I posted earlier congratulating you. And since, I've skimmed thru all the posts and I -think- something is missing. Hope - from your large UHH family - you will continue being a part of the UHH community!

Mazel Tov you lucky mench!
Maybe you can focus a little of your newly found time on
making photographs instead of helping photographers.

Your idea to serialize your progress here is brilliant.
Plus it is both envy-causing (I can't even draw a crooked line) and enlightening to watch.
I'm looking forward to the next installment.

Thanks, Waltnetto. It's a lot like signing your name on a display when you checkout when you purchase something.

Great analogy.

Well yeah, but doesn’t over use of PhotoShop just approach AI? And then where are we?

Hmm. Does extensive use of dodging and burning in my darkroom approach AI, or is it making a photo for ME (my eye) Pun intended.

Bingo, Setting text size smaller cured my problem. Shutter speed app now performs as it should.
Thank you, Thank you.
I’ll be forever in your debt.
The app was driving me crazy. Now I’m sane once more.
Note. I also tried getting help from Lukas with no response.

I'm happy hear of your success using my work-around.
You are welcome. Now let's see what I can come up with as a pay-back :)

I have installed shutter speed app by Lukas on my iPhone and it adds its icon on the Home Screen.
When the icon is pressed the Home Screen goes black for about 1/2 second then returns with all icons including shutter speed.
Anyone else had this issue who might be able to help,?

I eMailed Lukas about a fix I discovered for the iPhone. He ignored me.
Try reducing the font size you have set to 110% or smaller. Use the swipe
down menu labeled "aA" on the fast access menu. Then re-launch the App.
I have no idea if this works on an Android (or any other) Mobile Phone.
It worked for me and I was able to find the shutter speed for a T* Hasselblad lens.
It reported 460th of a second when set for 500th.

Note: do not use an LED light source. (Can't remember the technical reason)

Not knowing the investment amount OP considers too high, I offer the following link:
A mobile phone with an RCA type jack (or an adapter is required) along with a non-LED light source.

Catlabs is a very interesting site to visit and their customer service is damn good.

You've been listening to that delightful Todd Snyder singing the Statistician's Blues.

Looking, but prefer to buy a used one.

I have a lightly used Peak aluminum if you can't find a Carbon Fiber one.
PM me - I am in SoCal, too!
