I ordered a Gaomon PD1560 graphic display tablet so when it arrived the other day, I had to play with it on a few test runs. It will take a bit to get used to it so this morning I created this sketch of a young dark haired woman.
I hope to improve my skills using the graphic pen and the features of the tablet. This image was sketched in Photoshop.
Very nice - looking forward to more posts as your comfort with the tablet grows.
Thanks, Longshadow. This was my first attempt at creating a sketch from scratch so it's a bit crude. It takes practice, practice, practice to get sharp clean lines. I used a few brush types, but mostly a charcoal brush, which helps for it's less defined than a sharp line pen.

Thanks, Waltnetto. It's a lot like signing your name on a display when you checkout when you purchase something.
Excellent work on your new tablet!! You must be very excited with it. Your sketch is beautiful, especially the mouth. Can't wait to see more of your work!
Sippy, I give you an A+ for the class assignment, Excellent !
The background gradient is excellent and contrasts well with the blue suit. The hair has a life of its own grasping her head. Her downward face and upward eyes are a viewer-catching pose.
Gaomon PD1560 graphic display tablet on Ebay affordable, and a used one for 80 including shipping is even more affordable.
Looks like you're a natural with this tool. Very exciting to know you have a new challenge and interest to take your art even further.
Thanks, Curmudgeon, when a fellow is bald, he has to wear many hats!
