I’m downsizing and wanted to ask if there was value in saving the original boxes from lens and cameras?

Has anyone shopped at Abe's? I heard they are not an authorized dealer but their prices are less for a lens than other online stores such as B&H, Hunts, etc.

I enjoy Eastern Market for street photography on the weekends. Outside vendors and an indoor market too.

I’m trying to set my Nikon 750 to an aspect ratio of 1:1. I can’t seem to find this setting and the manual is complicated. Best I can find is to tape the back of the camera which I don’t want to do or edit picture after in The trim in the camera or Lightroom. Advice would be appreciated.

Kevin,
That wasn't in my post and if it was it was an error.

I agree with you. Monhegan is so special and I found it magical. I think you misread my comment.

I spend that time of the year in midcoast Maine and have taken one-on-one tours with Dee Peppe of Coastal Maine Photo Tours. She has taken me to some great photo spots as well as offered terrific tips. You may want to check out her website www.coastalmainephototours.com. She also has group photo tours
The islands of Vinalhaven and Monhegan are truly special and much less crowded than Arcadia if you are into places off the beaten path.

A photo guide suggested that I buy this lens so I did. I'm not thrilled with it. I use it on my Nikon 750 or with an adapter on my Nikon Z6. For me it's very heavy and not as sharp as I would like. I'm sorry I didn't go with a Nikon product. The idea of a good walk around travel lens I don't feel is accomplished with the 18-300.

Looking for advise from all the Hogs. Current equipment base is a Nikon D750 and Nikon D500. Lots of lens ranges to accompany. As I age, I find it harder and harder to shoot BIF for long periods of time with longer lenses. I have used a gimble but am not totally happy with that solution. Am now thinking of changing to a Nikon D850 or a Nikon Z series (probably a Z8). Is there a significant weight tradeoff by going mirrorless and am I trading other benefits by moving from DSLR to Mirrorless format. I know that is the future direction (Nikon just discontinued the D500) but wonder if the 850 will give me more benefits than the Z series. Am not doing any video work, just still imagery.

This is just my experience--I have a Nikon 750 and Z 6-ii. By the time I put a lens on the Z with the adapter, I'm finding it's heavy which was exactly what I wanted to avoid. Using the mirrorless has been a real challenge for me since I'm not very technical and all the tracking options are confusing. I've gone back to using my 750 which feels more comfortable. Some mirrorless lens are backordered which doesn't help either. I took a virtual class on using the Z which added to my confusion. Best wishes.

I have a Nikon 7100 and also wanted to get into a Nikon mirrorless so I bought the Z6ii. I bought the kit lens too and the adapter. Using the adapter is a challenge because of the added weight and size the camera becomes. So I'm holding off on my decision if I like the mirrorless or not. I took a virtual class from Santa Fe Photographic Center on the Nikon mirrorless which confused me even more with the tracking systems. I like the mirrorless since most of the functions are in the same place as the 7100. Hope this helps.

I try to support my local camera store even though I pay Florida sales tax but I respect their effort as a small business. Otherwise, I prefer B & H for their consistent customer service.

I've had a series of problems with Lenovo on two computers and supposedly they are manufactured in China. The customer service has been awful. Could just be my experience but I would never buy a Lenovo product again.
