Slightly farther afield, and to the south at the Dragon(USHwy 129, the Cherohala Skyway, and Bald River Falls. From Cades Cove, Rich Mountain Road, and Prsons Branch Rd (which leads to the Dragon). And FootHills Parkway.

If you have the time Bald River Falls, and the Cherohalla Skyway, then up Hwy 129 and across the Dragon to Foothills Parkway. Take Hwy 321 to Townsend and Cade’s Cove. Then hop back on I-75 near Knoxville.

Actually buggy whips are fairly easy to find on line or any area suburban/rural enough to have horses.
