I'll soon be traveling from central Florida to Ohio via I-75. Am willing to jump off the interstate for side trips and want to hear any Ideas. Will be going in September and am willing to spend several days to get there depending on the interest generated by your suggestions. because of my age, hiking is out of the question but short walks for a shot are welcome.

Hocking Hills State Park. Cedar Point Amusement Park near Sandusky -- named best amusement park in the word for 16 consecutive years (1997 - 2013), opened in 1870 and in the National Register of Historic Places.

The Horse Park and racing horse farms around Lexington KY is a beautiful area.

This might help - be aware in reverse to you starting in MI and ending in FL.

Additional suggestion if it hasn't been considered-- take different routes on you outgoing and return drives.

A very short drive off I 75 in southern Kentucky is the "Niagara falls of the south". Cumberland falls in Cumberland Falls State Resort Park is certainly worth a stop if you like waterfalls. Easy access to many viewing points both above and below the falls.

You might also think about a detour off I 75 at Knoxville and drive through the Smoky/Blue Ridge Mountains using US 441. If you have extra days stay in Gatlinburg and explore the Smokys.

If you have the time Bald River Falls, and the Cherohalla Skyway, then up Hwy 129 and across the Dragon to Foothills Parkway. Take Hwy 321 to Townsend and Cade’s Cove. Then hop back on I-75 near Knoxville.
