Canon stop producing the 5V Pro film cameras in 2010 but had a huge stockpile of them. Well, apparently the last one has rolled off the dealer floor and the end of the film era for Canon went with it.
I bought and loved a Canon T90(pre EOS) when they came out but hadn't owned a Canon film camera since the early 90's until a few years ago I bought a EOS-1n pro film camera so I could shoot film using all my new EOS AF glass to shoot film.
There is a disturbance in the force!!!
Will the void be filled by ML???
May Canon's film era RIP!

Just take a look at the vintage camera collectors Web Sites. You'd think you were still in the Nineteen Seventies. Canon AE-1 s, AE-1 Program s, A-1 s, F-1 s, everywhere, some still in boxes as if they were new. Perhaps they are. Seems among the hip young (photographer) millennials film is in and digital is not cool. So perhaps Canon and others might want to rethink their abandonment of film. Kodak has been bringing back older types of film and still develops new types. Didn't we all think the LP was dead two decades ago. Now they are "cool" and unfortunately $20 instead of the $3.96 I paid in 1968. I'm old so I'll stick to my digital cameras and media (for the most part).

I did see something somewhere recently that Kodak is selling its film division. What does that say?

Huh?

Kodak is still making film and has just rolled out Ektachrome again.

Just recently bought a Canon film camera. Also considered candidates from Pentax, Rollei, Mamiya, and others.
Used the AE-1 to take personal photos at a popular local festival on June 1st.

I don't care what Canon does, I keeping my AE-1 & AE-1 Program and the Canon lenses.

Yes, that is what the collectors say too.

I’m not saying film is going away, just that the film division is being sold, apparently as part of the bankruptcy reorganization.
We assume a new owner will not kill the film.

It says you shouldn't believe everything you read on the internet, SS.

You're right but that's not where I actually saw it.
I just Googled and that came up, I just assumed it was talking about the same thing!
The one I saw was a new posting, I believe on Peta-Pixel. Thanks

The T90 was a sweet camera. Even this old Nikon guy could really appreciate that.

Supply and demand. If there isn't enough demand, there's no need for a supply. Buggy whips and cranks for cars are also hard-to-find items.
