Fabulous! A city/nation that has some respect for bicyclists and their bicycles. Here in Southern California we have plenty of cyclists, but motorists like to use us for target practice.

You might also check out - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giant_Rock, just North of Landers. Even though the lower portions are graffiti covered, it's interesting and you can get some pretty neat shots of it and surrounding rock outcrops. Giant Rock is considered one of the largest glacial erratics in the world.

Really enjoyed those, and I always enjoy a good cigar. Wish I'd been there!

UHH probably hasn't changed my photography much. I utilize UHH not so much to learn about photography, but as a resource for opinions on good accessories - tripods, backpacks, printers, carrying straps, etc. , sometimes camera opinions and reviews. I have not been, nor will I ever be a good photographer, but have been a moderately serious amateur for over 60 years (about 45 film, 15 digital). I'm somewhat deeply (for me) invested in one system - that will probably never change, but at my advanced age I enjoy reading and trying to learn something new every day. Though I'm generally just lurking in the background, I learn a lot from reading you guys on a wide variety of issues.

Just to be safe, I've removed Adorama from my list of go-to vendors, which reduces it to B&H, Roberts/UPP, SAMY's and KEH. I can get everything I ever need or want from one of those four. I've never had a problem with any of them.

Another vote for the Nikkor DX 18-140mm!

I picked up a good, used one for $140.00 from a reliable dealer (SAMYS - Los Angeles).

It stays on my D500 most of the time unless I'm shooting birds.

Buying a used prime lens from B&H . Has anyone had any experience with their used products & do they offer any warranty?

B&H is excellent, as are Adorama, KEH, UPP (a division of Roberts Camera), and SAMY's in LA. I would also not hesitate to buy from Allen's in PA.

It seems like every new camera that comes out says, "focused more toward video than stills"...... I know vlogging is the new thing, but - I would love to see a camera that doesn't have all the video stuff and is focused more toward stills. Is there such a camera ? Have I missed it?

Buy a Nikon D700 (The Legend). I've picked up one in the last year. Old yes, and at 12 megapixels not a lot of resolution if you're a peeper, but you can find them aplenty at bargain basement prices. Get one with as little wear as you can find for $400-700. They still work like a charm and like me, couldn't less about video. If I wanted video I'd buy a dedicated video camera. But that's just me.

Might be a good idea to upload photos that we can see.
These are too small to tell anything.
And click the “store original” box to get the best out of it.
Good luck!

Thanks - I wondered what I did wrong with the photos...I'll try that again.

This new X-T2 body was purchased from one of the trusted New York dealers just prior to the introduction of the X-T4.   It is not grey market.  It's been sitting in the box you see for most of this past year while I continued using other gear.  It has never been used, and the box has never been unpacked.  It is complete with all of it's original contents.  I have a problem using "new" and generally buy only used equipment for my own use.  So this one has remained untouched by human hands since it left the factory.

If you have any questions just send me a note. I also have it listed on eBay so you can see a more comprehensive write-up (nothing you don't already know) along with my feedback there. Though I've been a (amateur) Hogger for a couple of years, I've only posted a couple of comments and never tried selling anything here before, so I'm an unknown as far as Hoggers are concerned.

$825.00 tyd, Paypal preferred.

You cannot go wrong with a low mileage D700. For best results, go to one of the well-known reputable dealers and check their used department. A couple of them sell on eBay.

I have a question for the Nikon gurus. My neighbor son is my camera buddy, and he wants to move to the Nikon full frame. However, I am a Canon user, and I down know much about the Nikon gear. We both take BIF and any other animals that cross our paths.

1) He currently has the D3100 and no telephoto lens.

2) He wants a full frame entry level and which telephoto will be a good deal for him.

3) in case dad doesn't want to pay for his camera which crop sensor will be good for him.

4) How much will this cost?

I am trying to get as much information for him and his father. He is a really good kid.

Thank you for all the help.

I could use some ideas for a first camers for college age grandson. He's interested in general photography and wants to spend $300 to $400. Any thoughts?

There are so many options available, and there is no best answer. Is he interested in learning "the basics" (manual & film?) or jumping right into modern-day digital? I've not been to college in 50 years, but from what I hear if one takes a beginning college-level photography class they'll start you with film anyway.

I was in a similar situation a couple of years ago, not with my own grandson but that of a friend. I was so pleased to find that the young lad was fascinated with film (kids today like to call it "old school"), so he got into it with a couple of VERY inexpensive, good, used film cameras (Olympus and Nikon). We're now a couple of years into his hobby and he's still not interested in digital (yet).
