Thanks for your detailed responce.
My screens are different but I can get to a similiar screen under a heading called Manual color adjustment and then select MATCHING. This gives me the option to select NONE. But I am not sure that this is the same as turning off "printer controls color."
But I will keep looking for an answer.

When selecting the print command, there is a choice between letting printer manage color or letting Photoshop manage color. When the latter is selected, a message appears suggesting that you turn off Printer Color Management.
Formally there was a box that could be checked to do that but that choice is no longer available in the newest download. Extensive online searching and a long chat session with Adobe Tech Support gave no clue as how to do this.
I am not sure what effect this has on my amatuer printing efforts but would appreciate any thoughts others may have as how to deal with this. I am using Windows 11 and a Canon Pixma G620 printer.,

I had never seen a rainbow that stretched from horizon to horizon. Luckily my camera was handy.

And a prudent person doesn’t reinstall the OS to address an application issue. It is SOOO easy to read the logs which will tell you exactly what is causing the crash. Let me provide a real-world example. I was experiencing periodic windows crashes with PS also. After reinstalling PS and assuring that both my drivers and Windows patches were up to date, I went to the log and examined the fatal executions, and it was immediately apparent that it wasn’t an OS or PS issue, it was a graphics card issue. Hence the reason I asked for details about the graphics card, driver and Windows revisions.

What logs are yiou referring to and where can they be accessed?

You can do that, but there’s zero guarantee that will fix the issue. Media Creation tool is essentially cloning SW. if the problem is in the OS, it may or may not fix the issue, but if the issue is with the PS installation or graphics card, it will just duplicate the issue, the correct fix is to diagnose the issue - just not that hard to read the logs.

The media creation tool is not cloning software. It will either wipe your disk and install a complete version of Windows, or do an install of the Windows operating system that does not affect your programs or personal files. I know this from recent personal experience.,

I recently had a computer issue that was finally resolved by reinstalling Windows 11. I was reluctant to have the Dell Tech do this not wanting to go through the challange of reinstalling all of my programs. However, the reinstall media gives the option of doiing a reinstall leaving your apps and personal files untouched. We did this. It took about thirty minutes including several restarts, but then the computer booted up and ran like new with all of my programs intact and available.

I need to transfer a few videotapes to a flash drive as I want to play on my computer.
What company does the best job so as to render best resolution and audio preservation?
Thank you for recommendations and any suggestions to proceed in another manner.

I just had stereo slides from 1955 digitalized by Smoothphotoscanning.com (973 510 0818)and they were excellent. Quick service and not too expensive. You might call them to see if they can deal with your videotapes.

All the mention of the good old camera stores in New York have brought back many memories. And remind me of my age. I started buying from Willoughbys in High School around 1949.
My favorite back then was Olden's Camera; small, very crowded and up a flight of stairs.
