Excellent shots! Really can appreciate how you captured the facial expressions of the bear! Have had a couple in our Northeast U.S. yard. Had to shoot video from the window!

I am using Catalina and discovered that my favorite Photoshop Elements will not run. HOWEVER, i have always provided a second partition on which i run the PREVIOUS OS X system. That way if i have a problem with anything I can boot into that partition and work on a problem, or in this case if i really want to use PSE, i have Mojave there to use. Unfortunately, Mojave only runs PSE partially. Those problems i have to work out. But the point is, in my opinion, have a partition on your system that's nearly up to date, so you can run a good number of your old favorites until you find an alternative that will work for you. Yes it's a pain to have to boot into another portion when you want to use your favorite apps, but you can spend a lot of time and money trying to find something else! You don't have to use half of your space to do this either. Make a partition that is minimal for your setup, and you won't regret it! Have done this for a couple of decades. Oops!! Just dated myself!

Does anyone have an opinion about Outdoor Photographer's magazine pics? To me they have appeared so dark in the shadows that the lack of details in those areas degrades the photos! I would like to see more details in the dark areas. Could this be a printing flaw or quirk when it comes to mass magazine printing? I have written to OP a few times but have not received an answer!
On MINE too! I was thinking that they are VERY nice but shadows need lightening! They may look better with just a LITTLE tweak!
I would try using Parallels. Run both Os x and windows on same computer while making transition. That way, any possible loss could be recovered using your Windows knowledge. However i don't think i would use the newest OS X version. Some apps that i have used for many years won't work on Catalina and up! Could be the same with latest Windows, but i don't know about that. I have Windows 10, OS X Catalina, AND Mojave on a mid 2010 MacBook Pro. Don't use the Windows much because i started out with OS X and stayed there. For ME, OS X has been easier for solving problems, so i've stayed with it. I don't like the idea that i can't use the Photoshop Elements app i've used for years on Catalina! Mojave sort of works with PSE, but not like before i upgraded from High Sierra to Mojave and Catalina!
At any rate, i think the gradual path with Parallels may be your answer! Hope this helps!
Looks too much like a finch. Look on flickr and wikipedia. No YELLOW! The ones in my yard have no yellow, look like big sparrows and are smaller than the male. Take note of the beak.
I used IFIXIT.com which has easy to understand instructions with pictures.
Why not just buy a used one? Try going on Ifixit and search for answers. Nothing wrong with a good refurb either! I have 2! A lot of possibilities!
So far as the screws are concerned, try getting a tool (or tools) at ifixit. Lots of handy things there!
Try installing the software again. i have had problems solved by this simple act! Also try booting into safe mode. Try using another version of software. i have 2 MacBook pros from 2010 that are doing great!
