One of my hobbies is target shooting with both handguns and rifles. The suppressor makes the firearm hearing safe. I have hearing loss from service in the military and want save what I have left. Every time a crazy person commits an evil act someone cries for banning a tool the crazy used. That logic could extend to the transportation he used, the eyeglasses he wore or the shoes on his feet. The root cause is the insanity of the culprit. Society seems unwilling to deal with that. I don't know if that unwillingness is because of a lack of understanding and knowledge or just a lazy way of looking for a simple answer. Take away the firearms the scope sights the suppressors the knives the ball bats the golf clubs the sticks and stones and crazy people will still do harm. All the calls for banning this or that distract from the real problem and solve nothing.

If you talk your kid brother into peeing on the plug wires of a running six cylinder Chevy you will get in trouble.

The same thing happened to my brother. They decided they liked the location and called all their friends. Now he has a large flock which will not leave and craps everywhere. They return to roost almost every evening. Hope you have better luck.

I bought a lens from Japan listed as "Mint" but found out too late the foot and hood were not included. I thought "Mint" would be factory condition. Check the pictures closely.

If you remain calm, cool and keep your head while people all around are panicking and losing theirs perhaps you don't fully comprehend the situation.

Much discussion and many opinions about batteries. This is an old subject I have seen many times. The only thing I can say for sure is don't ever use your tounge to check the charge in your battery, OEM or aftermarket.

I use ZEISS Lens Wipes.
(Not sure if isopropyl alcohol will bother the coating.)

I used to use Zeiss wipes. The instruction books with new Pentax lens say not to use alcohol or other organic solvents. The lens makers probably know what they are talking about so now I use air first and damp cloth second, as little of both as possible. Rocket blower, not breath. The urge to just quickly blow dust off by mouth is great but spit and loogies just compound the problem.

Anyone who has ever been really hungry just once will become much less picky. I am always very gratefull to have something to eat, more so if it tastes good. Don't take food for granted, clean your plate, the day may come when you wish you had.

What brand of Arca quick release plates are you using on your gimbal and ball head?
Thanks!

There are many choices for arca swiss plates on Ebay. Some are made heavier than others so the cheapest is not always the best. I found that the foot on my Sigma150-500 has the same contour as an arca swiss plate so fits my gimbal head without a plate. The clamp and foot are plenty long to allow balancing the lens and camera combo on the head. I liked the arrangement so much that I asked my brother, a retired machinist, to modify the foot on my Pentax 150-450. He made the cuts to match an arca plate and the change works fine. This just takes one link out of the setup, makes things a bit stiffer. I don't know why all long telephotos couldn't have arca swiss feet to start, the threaded holes would still accommodate other plates.

Better to have more than you need than less than you need. To have a camera (or anything else) to grow into than one to outgrow. Sometimes the journey is the destination.

Window up, cold day, warm house. Warm air hitting cold outside air can induce distortion. The same thing can happen shooting out of the window of a warm vehicle on a cold day. Might be a factor here.
