Thank you for your suggestion.

Do you mean that I would have to make a show, save it, and then publish it?

I made a sample show, as I mentioned, and saved it to a USB drive. It worked only on the computer that I used to make the show. When I put the USB, into my other computer, the show opened, but there were no photos.

Thanks again, for your suggestion.

Michael

Yes that is exactly what you need to do. Otherwise Proshow is unable to find the photos on your new computer. Proshow needs to make a complete file so you can run it on other computers. A simple save results is not the answer as Proshow will try to locate your photos on the original computer which don't exist on your new computer.
Good luck!

I've been able to use Proshow Gold, sine the company closed, on my Windows 7, desktop computer, including some of the royalty free music.
It also worked on my laptop, which was Windows 10, but would crash from time to time. However, when I upgraded to Windows 11, it stopped working and would crash all the time.
A friend of mine found Proshow Gold 9, and installed it on my laptop, and it works, but without the music files. So, I did a test slide show, and saved it, on a USB drive, and then opened it on my desktop system. The show opens, but all the photos are gone! I've tried this a few times, but to no avail. My reasoning was to make the show, on my laptop, save it, and open it on my desktop, to add the music.
I know what the comments are going to be-why not just make the show on the desktop. The reason is, I use my laptop 99% of the time.
If anyone has had a similar problem and was able to get the program to run, on Windows 11, I would sincerely, love to know how you achieved it.
Any constructive suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,
I have been a Proshow Producer user for years. When Proshow was no longer in business, I did lose the music that the program provided but everything else worked. Last December though I purchased a new desk top with Windows 11 and I could not load the program because it kept asking for my Registration Key which I provided but with the activation server no longer working, there was no approval process. So I did a deep dive in seeking out how to fix this issue and I came across the following article.
Once I made the suggested changes the program loaded and I am able to use it but it does crash periodically and some features don't appear to be working but nothing serious. As for your pictures, the way Proshow works it maps to the location of your photos. So if you just saved the file and loaded it on another computer, the photos would not be there because there is no map to your select photos on that other computer. To fully test it you would need to complete the show and then save it as a finished product so it could be run on another computer.

I also have an IPhone and on my phone I have a Microsoft App named "One Drive". Any photo I take on my camera is automatically uploaded to this App. On my PC, I have the "One Drive" and I can easily access any photos that I took that were uploaded. Just note that One Drive only allows 5 GB of free memory. Beyond the 5 GB you either have to buy more memory storage or move some photos out of the One Drive.

My kids gave me a new iPhone for Christmas. I had an old Samsung/Android which I had no problems with and was very comfortable using it. In any event, I was surprised that I had to use iTunes to manage my photos and albums on the iPhone. On my Samsung once I connected via USB to my PC the phone appeared as a drive and I could copy/move/delete/create folder etc like any other drive. Very disappointing I could not do the same with the iPhone.

So, after research and I haven't' found a rock solid solution just a lot of ads for apps, including a Microsoft solution. I am willing to pay for the app, if it's not really expensive. I rather not go the route of moving photo to third party (Goggle, DropBox, etc.) and then download to the iPhone. I just want to transfer photo to/from my PC and iPhone. If you have an iPhone with one of these apps I could use your advise.

Also, I haven't found a creditable site that reviewed/compared these third party apps.

We have a vacation home in Deep Creek which is located in Garrett County and it provides many areas for getting beautiful pictures. You have Deep Creek Lake, State Parks with many hiking trails, Swallow Falls State Park that also has Muddy Creek Falls which is a 53-foot waterfall and the mountains. If you love the out doors and nature, you will enjoy Deep Creek. Also about 1 hour south of Deep Creek, there is Black Water Falls State Park in West Virginia. There are plenty areas to take some beautiful photos. Enjoy!

I encountered a similar problem on my Nikon monitor. When I viewed my photos there was a line running through the monitor affecting how the photo looked. However the photos I took were fine and that's all that matters. The problem was with the viewing monitor. I then took the camera to a camera shop and they checked it out. In turn they said if the photos are fine, then I wouldn't do anything to try and fix the problem because it would be too costly. So I learned to live with the line and it hasn't been a problem since.

Not sure why because I have been doing this since my IPhone 6 and I now have an IPhone 8. Have you opened your One drive, clicked on photos and then onto Camera Update. Also on the bottom of the One drive App on your phone you will see, Files, Photos, Recent, Shared and Me, click on Shared and you should see Links Onedrive to me. If you don't see that then you need to create that link.

On my IPhone I have an App "One Drive" which is Windows based and part of the Windows I Cloud. My photos are automatically loaded onto "One drive" which is also on my computer. Once there I delete the photos from the IPhone Photo App. It works real well. For example, if you took photos early today with your IPhone and that evening you went onto your computer and open the file "One Drive" you would find the photos you took earlier that day. The only requirement for "One drive" is internet access to allow the transfer. This App works with pictures and videos.
