I've been able to use Proshow Gold, sine the company closed, on my Windows 7, desktop computer, including some of the royalty free music.
It also worked on my laptop, which was Windows 10, but would crash from time to time. However, when I upgraded to Windows 11, it stopped working and would crash all the time.
A friend of mine found Proshow Gold 9, and installed it on my laptop, and it works, but without the music files. So, I did a test slide show, and saved it, on a USB drive, and then opened it on my desktop system. The show opens, but all the photos are gone! I've tried this a few times, but to no avail. My reasoning was to make the show, on my laptop, save it, and open it on my desktop, to add the music.
I know what the comments are going to be-why not just make the show on the desktop. The reason is, I use my laptop 99% of the time.
If anyone has had a similar problem and was able to get the program to run, on Windows 11, I would sincerely, love to know how you achieved it.
Any constructive suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have been a Proshow Producer user for years. When Proshow was no longer in business, I did lose the music that the program provided but everything else worked. Last December though I purchased a new desk top with Windows 11 and I could not load the program because it kept asking for my Registration Key which I provided but with the activation server no longer working, there was no approval process. So I did a deep dive in seeking out how to fix this issue and I came across the following article.
Once I made the suggested changes the program loaded and I am able to use it but it does crash periodically and some features don't appear to be working but nothing serious. As for your pictures, the way Proshow works it maps to the location of your photos. So if you just saved the file and loaded it on another computer, the photos would not be there because there is no map to your select photos on that other computer. To fully test it you would need to complete the show and then save it as a finished product so it could be run on another computer.
