Nice set! Some beauties there. I do think though, turning a four door into a hotrod is the equivalent of putting lipstick on a pig.

Worked a union job, 25 yrs. Got a yearly raise, cheaper better insurance, if you messed up there were disciplinary steps in writing to be followed. Worked our behinds off. Got (after 20 years) a fifth week of vacation. Nonunion, paid triple what we paid for lesser insurance, raises were rare. Messed up? Subject to the mercy of some tyrant boss who wasn’t even there, 20 yr employees maxxed out at 3 weeks vacation. Should mention this company expanded during my 25 yrs 100 fold. It pays to have someone in your corner fighting for you. Corporate greed is real.

Sand away with what you have, random orbit is best, save yourself some time and start with 60 grit, then 120 and end with 220. “Season” is not needed. Simply use mineral oil rubbed into the pan after each use to prevent rust. I am suprised there are no “purists” telling you not to sand it smooth and also not wash it with soapy water.

Nicholas Cage recent movies have become the same trend, total crap. Apparently he needs the money and will do any role to pay the bills.

Well for those few of you who are wondering why I dropped off the planet I had a rather complicated piece of surgery done. They had to do a bone fusion from t4 through t6 and then a following fusion from t6 to t8. Needless to say I was not hopping around with a camera.

In the meantime, of all that are precious and most to be loved family member, Dusk, became incognizant and then slowly lost the ability to use her right front and rear legs and went blind in her right eye. It was determined at this point that she had a brain tumor on the left frontal at 12 years of age. It was strongly advised against putting her through chemotherapy and radiation. We gave her some medication to help her feel better. It worked for a few days but then she quickly went downhill and we let her go at 5:43 in the morning on July 16th. I know many of you have had wonderful canine partners and feline partners that you have been devastated over having left this earth so you know how badly my soul was damaged.

Normally we wait months before even considering another partner but The two remaining Huskies were not handling the lost well. The eldest who was a very close companion to dusk began hiding and the large husky Winnie could not take control of the remaining husky.

Dusk being an Australian Shepherd mix with golden retriever was without doubt the ruler of the house. She ruled with the velvet hand and did so in a very firm way. Keeping two crazy huskies under control at all times 🙂 so we decided to look for a golden retriever which was the better part of dusk. And after many hundreds of pictures and dozens and dozens and dozens of breeders, we stumble across one little golden retriever puppy whose eyes just melted through and we could not resist lol. She had that same depth in her eyes that are deer dusky had.
She is a purebred. She has papers. She was thoroughly vet checked given a one-year health guarantee. No questions. Asked her parents were genetically tested and OFA certified and a wonderful company called puppies Express drove her from Indiana to Florida and delivered her safe and sound to our door 🙂 I have since been doing what I can to train her and teach her all the commands that are used in the household that the other dogs already know. She has already learned most of her hand signals. She is presently 4 months and 2 weeks old. She is teething and we are giving her every chewable item that will assist her in this. She is an absolutely adorable and sweetheart girl so I have been very very busy and in my condition you can add a few more very s to that.

So I will bore you with one or two images of our sweet girl if I can figure out how to do it on a cell phone as I am not able to actually sit at the computer lol.

As for doing my regular nature photography, it will be a while if at all. I have to be very careful about twisting bending turning so as not to possibly damage this fusion. And yes, in dog years I am already dead but in human years I am 69 going on 88 very quickly lol. I still love photography. I just don't know if I can do it but we will find out in a few months 🙂 in the meantime, I hope everyone is getting what they want as far as images and new equipment and education and experience.
Well for those few of you who are wondering why I ... (show quote)

As a back surgery survivor (two), I can relate. Your love for your pets was extremely well written and definetly a heart tugger.

Gabapentin for me, I sometimes think it doesn’t help until I miss a dose, get a reminder that it indeed does. Anyone here tried Lyrica? My Doctor says to try it, for some it brings better relief. Can always go back to Gabapentin.

This makes sense, I didn’t think of that, as I wouldn’t think it would/could happen, as I always power down the camera before removing. Update, after reading your reply I took the card out and reinserted it, powered back up and bingo! Sure enough, back to the CF. Can’t believe I never made the connection. Thanks for the help.

Seems that my 7d mark ll seems to almost revert to my CF card as the default card when shooting pics. I generally leave both CF and SD cards in while shooting as I set camera to auto switch card when full. I set it to SD all the time as I have a older laptop I download pics to that has a SD slot to avoid having to wire my camera to the laptop. Many times I will pick up to shoot and see that it has reverted back to loading shots to CF card. Driving me crazy. Any thoughts?
