They replaced the dial assembly. Total price was $385 which included cleaning, calibration and repair.
I recently sent my 1DX Mk2 off to repair a worn out top main dial. It was not under warranty. Video One Repair in Newbury Park, CA did a fantastic job! They have an A+ rating with the BBB and they did the repair (plus a cleaning and calibration) in a timely manner. I was without my camera for only 2 weeks. Half of that time was shipping cross country. Their customer service was courteous and knowledgeable. I highly recommend them!! đ
Hi Dale!
I am a Canon guy. We can meet up for coffee sometime in Charlotte. We can arrange this in a private message.
I love Smugmug! I have used it since 2014 and have never had any problem with it. It works well for me as a high school sports and portrait photographer. My sales pay for my time and gear.
I added a Canon R with a 24-240mm lens to my DSLR collection. I enjoy it for travel but I still use my 1DX Mk2 and 5D Mk4 for my portrait work. I also added my first prime (85mm 1.2 L) and I LOVE it. I hesitated to get the prime lens at first because I know how to create bokeh with my 70-200 2.8, plus I didnât want to âzoom with my feetâ. However, it has become my favorite lens in my collection!
I did put the card (with only RAW files on it) in my laptop and Lightroom showed âNo photosâ. It was the same when I used the cable. When I put the card back in my camera the photos were still on it. I was able to transfer the RAW files to my phone (through the app Camera Connect) only AFTER they were compressed to jpegs.
I will check for an update. Thanks for the info!
I will check that out. I will also check the Lightroom preferences. I have had no issues importing RAW files from my 5D Mk4 or 1DX MK2.
I have the Adobe Lightroom/Photoshop monthly subscription. I also have a new EOS R that I am unable to transfer RAW files to my MacBook Pro. I have tried the direct transfer with the cable and wireless. The jpegs transfer just fine. I downloaded the expanded user guide and found I was transferring images correctly. I even tried another new 64 GB card with the same result. Anyone know what I am doing wrong?
I just added the R and also the 85mm 1.2 to my collection. This is great info from a few of my favorite hedgehogs! Thanks so much!
Great shot! Great info here as well. Anticipation is key in sports photography. Well done!
I applaud you for holding on to your passion through this difficult circumstance. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
I have done this many times. A short lens will have you moving around on the field right in front of your subjects. Use a speed light with your 70-200. You wonât have to get as close to fill the frame and you can use a lower ISO with the light of your flash.
