I guess I'm lucky. Have used Snapbridge with 3400 and 7500 for 5 years on bluetooth to Samsung 10.1 tablet. Just use it to see download of shots taken in real estate and it is amazing. +35000 on 3400 and over 50000 on 7500. Had to reinstall 1 time and maybe once a month reboot it. Always auto pairs....just turn it on

How can the iPad recognise the camera when it is only reading the card??

Nikon names the card with the camera model when you format it in the camera

Thanks Ken. Perfect timing, I expire the end of this month and have been waiting for this. Did the test have other elements that were not in the module?

Ken, do you happen to have the URL for that? Thanks

Just to clarify, the drone $5 drone registration with the FAA is for a 3 year period not 1

The online test only applies if you hold a part 61 pilot certificate as alexol stated in his next to last sentence. So unless you have a Pilots license you must take the renewal part 107 test at a testing center. Just went through this and got the certificate after taking and passing the retest. Less questions and less topics on renewal.

Thanks Jimmy T. I shoot real estate and had a back up camera, but the 7500 really works well for me. Assuming Nikon still down and no one close so thought of sending somewhere was a real pain

Were you using a lens with an aperture ring? I had the ERR message come up on my D300 because I didn't have the aperture ring set to its upper limit. The particular lens was an old 35-105 which is autofocus until you get to infinity and then goes into manual mode to focus in macro. I bumped the aperture ring just slightly and got the ERR message. Getting back to f22 got rid of the ERR message.

Rick

No aperture ring. You would think I would have tried shutter, but nothing else worked on camera and never occurred to me.

My 7500 was flashing ERR and would not work. Nikon literature said send in, and first three Utubes said clean lens contacts. Didn't help. Next utube was extremely short and all he said was press the shutter. IT WORKED!! Hope this saves angst for someone down the road because I thought mine was going back.

Have used Cyberlink for years. Both video (power director) and photo director. Upgrades are inexpensive. Now changing to subscription model for so much per month, but still supporting existing. Only issue for me is every online class or book I get, always show Pp or lightroom tutorials and how to's

Greetings
I need your valuable opinions. I want to buy an on camera flash unit for my Nikon camera. It doesn't have a built in pop up flash. Normally I don't use flash but I thought I should have one if needed. I see Neewer have inexpensive TTL units.
Is Neewer a reliable brand?
Thank you

I have been using Neewer 750 ll flashes for 2 years in real estate. Have had them fall off door tops to tile floors. No plastic broken, just put pieces back together and they still work! Thousands of flashes.

While Pocket Wizards are outstanding triggers, offering unmatched range and if you use TTL excellent integration with your camera, less expensive alternatives do exist. I have been using Yongnuo triggers since 2011 with my old Sunpak 383 (and about another dozen or so variations of that flash) manually, with their least expensive trigger - the old RF602. It has been replaced with a transceiver version - the RF-603 II is only $30 - $32 for a pair on Amazon, eBay, B&H or Adorama. They have a line of sight range of 100m, and so far in use have yet to misfire (except for those times when I killed a battery). They are well-built and the company is great - initially the old triggers were a transmitter/receiver and did not have an on/off switch on the transmitter. If you forgot to remove the battery and the base of the transmitter came in contact with metal, it could short out. They replaced 2 of mine at no charge, and they subsequently but quietly modified the part to include an on/off switch. This is no longer an issue since they use a transceiver and it has an on/off switch. If your camera is supported, the transceiver can be used as a two-stage remote shutter release. I used the release to take this selfie, with a trigger in my left hand.

They now have an rd 605 model that adds LCD screen full of useful info including low battery and still around $35.00 a pair at Amazon. Have had no problems with these. Very reliable. Also like that these can either be set to be transmitters or receivers, so if you break your transmitter you can just set another to take over that function

Cool, good job and congrats. I need to take the 107, but have not decided on my path with drones. I got into them for drone racing with my son, but have started to do some DIY camera platform stuff, so I'm thinking about a DJI sometime in the future, and the license.

Also interesting that you think if you fly hobby you can fly out of visual line of sight and at night. You are really giving bad info to the board.

For anyone else here with the Part 107 certificate and hasn't renewed yet, I have awesome news.

Unlike the initial test which I must say was ridiculously over reaching with wing loading etc... to renew, you now go to the FAAST website, go through a roughly 2 hour tutorial, you can stop and start as much as you want, then take the final test which is all drone oriented, no in depth chart reading or airspace, more like accident reporting, who to contact for flight notifications, etc.

You do have to get 100% on the test, but it's not bad at all, and they do tell you what question you missed (I did miss one on the first try, misread the question), and the retake is the exact same test!

The best part, it's FREE!!!!

What they don't tell you, and it took me almost 2 weeks of emails and phone calls, but once you pass the test, you print off the test result and certificate, and keep it with your original, no new "ticket" is mailed to you.

I was dreading all this for nothing, especially going to a testing sight all over again, and studying all that chart reading, etc.

Again, this is only for renewal, the original part 107 is still all the same.

I'm passing on this info, because I haven't seen it on youtube, or any of the study sights, and the FAAST sight wasn't really that helpful either. It tells you about the class and test, but says nothing about not needing to send your results somewhere and waiting for a renewed "license" that will never come.

Any questions, just ask. I'm SOOO glad it's over, and it was so much easier than I had thought the second time around.

Not true, if you read the course description, that only applies if you are part 61 qualified. If you are part 107 it clearly states you must take recurrent test at FAA sanctioned facility. Sorry to burst your bubble
