Ultra PhotoDirector 7 info

Cleaning up my desk, I found an unopened box with this software, apparently compatible with my PC. This purports to be a "complete photo adjustment and design" package (like photoshop or lightroom, I would guess). The words and pics on the package make it look pretty impressive, but I have not heard it discussed here. Is there experience or recommendations regarding whether this is worth installing and using? I do not have either PS or LR. I am a newly minted DSLR owner, although a long-time picture taker. My post processing experience lies years in the past with developing/enlarging/printing b/w pics in my basement darkroom. Thanks.

I don't use it but it has average reviews. I would say worth a try.

If you enjoy learning new software, should be fun to explore. If you get frustrated easily and are not committed to learning a lot about post processing (i.e. you much prefer being out taking pictures), then perhaps you would want to try a free trial of something that is well known and has more support (videos, books, users here): Photoshop or Lightroom or PS Elements or Affinity.

PhotoDirector is basically a Lightroom clone, but does somethings LR doesn't. Excellent place to start your editing experience.
Does Layers, content aware removal, etc. 7 is a couple years old, now at 11. CyberLink has been putting a lot of energy into it lately. CyberLink is a big video software outfit. Just got email today for new video tutorials.
Upgrades can be really inexpensive when on sale. Has a ton of pre- sets/ styles.
The printing module is nice and simple. Has easy way to add signature.
Try it for sure, you will like it.

You've pretty much said it all.

Cyberlink PhotoDirector 11 Ultra is very close to being in the same league as some of the top stuff. Not quite there yet in a number of respects, but just as good in others. It's much closer than the OP's version 7.

Have used Cyberlink for years. Both video (power director) and photo director. Upgrades are inexpensive. Now changing to subscription model for so much per month, but still supporting existing. Only issue for me is every online class or book I get, always show Pp or lightroom tutorials and how to's
