There is an Canon ef 28-80mm. It's cheaply built but it exists.
I was under the impression that without exception Nikon lenses could be adapted (and I have adapters) to a Canon because the distance to the focal plane was longer on the Nikon's. On the other hand the offset on the Canon being shorter wouldn't work on a Nikon.
This looks like a hoverfly.
This photo was taken with my 30d. It's a generation older than the 40d. It's only 8.2 MP. I'd keep the 40d. It's got live view and would be a great first camera since the color out of camera is great!
I start by taking off the lens cap... on my Canon t4i I usually turn the camera on.

What do you mean titles? You mean labels on the drives?
If the fact that the display turns off after 4 seconds is the reason you are disappointed with the t6 then give it time. It's a great camera. I learned digital photography on a t3 and a t6. You'll get better and learn to make decisions faster when it comes to this sort of thing.
T4i works great for night photography. Don't know why it's T3i wouldn't.
Just got a t4i. Paid $259 for it. I attached my 18-135mm stm and put my Toshiba w04 wi-fi aircard in it. Who needs two card slots? The camera is great but according to what I can see it's not a huge improvement over the t3i. Add a touch flippy screen to the t3i and you have my camera. I think the t3i is a solid camera. Go for it.
Everything looks washed out (overexposed) and pink... What white balance setting was used?
