I'm courious. Do y,all know anything about a Canon T3i. Like approximate value in good condition. 2 lenses. 18 ×55 & 75 x 250. Something like that. E.O.S CanonT3i. Courious about performance & approximate value. If I could take a good picture , could I do it with the Canon T3i

If it is in good condition you could learn photography with it. It is a fairly dated model, but would be OK as a learning camera. Check Ebay to see what used models sell for (do an advanced search for "sold" ones). If you are buying it from a store, make sure they give you a six-month guarantee.

If the T3i is in good condition it will take very good photos even good enough to sell. If you are up to it as it is a very featured camera. It has an 18mp sensor which the Nikon D5 has a 20.8mp (Over $6,000)sensor so great enlargements can be had with your T3i. My daughter is still winning awards and selling beautiful photos using the older T1i. The great thing about the Canon EOS system ALL Canon EF, EFs lenses ever made since the beginning will work 100% with it. So if you come across any EF lens you will know it will work with no issues if the lens is not broken. Finally even the new mirrorless EOS R system will use all EF and EFs lenses with no limitations and even make them work better than before so there is no worry if you grow you will know your entire lens investment will totally 100% function with newer cameras including the new R camera and they will also work 100% with the M Canon mirrorless cameras. That can't be said for ANY other system.
So if it is in good condition get it and get into photography.
Have fun.

I have and still use an older T2i. While not as many features as my 80D, it still takes fine photos. I'm sure a good working T3i would provide many hours of happy photographing.

I enjoyed my T3i very much for over four years. I only sold it in order to purchase mirrorless (mostly for the reduction of weight and bulk, especially of certain lenses).

Why are you asking about this camera specifically? Does someone you know have it for sale? As suggested, you should research prices online. There may be refurbished models with warranties.

As for "good pictures," if you are most interested in night photography (the only info you've shared on UHH so far ), I'm not sure that would be the best choice, particularly with those lenses. For general purpose, and for learning photography, I wouldn't hesitate, assuming you can get for a fair price.

Please note there is a T3, that will likely be a little cheaper. One difference is the T3i has a rotating LCD, which I think is a fantastic feature for those low angle views without stress to aging knees

The below photo was taken in 2014 with the 55-250 mm lens (I later upgraded), but it was not full dark yet.

IF it's working properly you should have no problem, I still have and use a T1i, Bob.

Up graded from a t3i to an 80d. Still use the t3i for backup. Great pictures (and lighter weight).

Love the T3i, it is my first real DSLR. It will give you great service for years, and it's easy to learn.
I use it for product shots and outdoor work along side an 80D. Truly I cannot tell much difference between the quality of the picture.

Just got a t4i. Paid $259 for it. I attached my 18-135mm stm and put my Toshiba w04 wi-fi aircard in it. Who needs two card slots? The camera is great but according to what I can see it's not a huge improvement over the t3i. Add a touch flippy screen to the t3i and you have my camera. I think the t3i is a solid camera. Go for it.

Hello Linda,

I'm curious as to why the T3 is not especially suited for night photography. It seems to me that if it has a port for connecting a remote shutter actuator, you could get "good" pictures at ISO 100 with a properly timed exposure.

Best,

Jason

Sorry, I was thinking more night sky - specifically star photography - after reading OP's first topic:
https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-518642-1.html

And then I was thinking image quality from those lenses + someone's comment about dynamic range was rattling around in my head...which at that point, should have warned me to just be quiet

T4i works great for night photography. Don't know why it's T3i wouldn't.

I had a T3i and it served all of my needs very well but I had an itch to upgrade. The local camera dealer where I bought the camera originally would not offer me anything on a trade in. Their competitor gave me $200 in a trade for an 80D which I also love. Cameras & technology are changing faster than cell phones these days.

I've had my T3i for about 4 years. Love it. Perfect for what I'm doing right now, using some automatic but increasingly manual settings.
