[quote=globetrekker]What would be the downsides of using non-Canon batteries in my R10? Example below. Not as reliable as Canon batteries? They're SO much cheaper, and the reviews are good. But I dunno. Thanks for any thoughts.

I have been using Promaster Batteries in numerous Canon digital cameras starting with A Rebel XTi, T4i,70D,80D,
90D,and my curent cameras R7 and R5. I have never had any problems and performance wise they are equal to Canon batteries.

I was recently diagnosed via biopsy with basal cell skin cancer between my nose and my camera eye (left). I had an MRI yesterday and will get the result (probably) on Tuesday when I see the dermatologist who will do Mohs surgery, tentatively scheduled for early next month. If the worst scenario occurs, how will I continue taking pictures? I tried to look through my right eye as an experiment and it just seemed too weird.

Changing eyes is not that Difficult. Two years ago I lost sight in my right eye and had to change to my left eye. I adjusted very quickly and now it seems normal to use my left eye.

I have used Promaster batteries in my Canon cameras, currently R5 and R7 but also previous models for at least ten years and have never had a problem. Performance is the same as Canon batteries.

I also Recently returned from Antarctica. Early February. I had two Bodies Canon R7 and R5. I took three lenses the RF100-500 which got the most use, a RF24-105f4 wichalso was used a lot, a 14-35f4 which was rarely used. I also
took the 1.4X and 2X teleconvertors which I did not use. Having two bodies was nice since I did not have to change lenses while on shore. A waterproof bag is a must when in the zodiaks.

I was there in July 2022. I took a canon R5 with the RF24-105 F4 and a EF100-400 lens with adaptor. I rarely used the 100-400 maybe 20 shots out of almost 1500. The lens you have should be fine. Enjoy it's a great country.

I agree that you need to be careful not to disturb wildlife. I am currently taking pictures of a Hawk nest.
I set up a tree stand about 50 yards away and use a long telephoto. It does not seem to bother the Hawk.
A couple years ago I used the same setup for a Owl nest and it did not affect the Owls in any way. Good luck
with your Cardinal. I have model releases for both birds.

I bought the Pro-10 about 4 months ago. I had one problem after about a month it stopped working would not power up.
I contacted Canon Support and they were very good. They shipped me a new one right away. I have had no further problems. I really like the printer.

I have a Mindshift firstlight 30L I carry two gripped bodies Canon 70d and a t4i. Three lenses Canon 70-200 f2.8 a 100-400 F4.5-5.6 and a sigma 17-50 f2.8 plus a pair of binoculars.
Its a little heavy but it carries well. The best thing to do is take your gear to a camera shop and see what bag best fits it.

I Have the Sigma 150-600 Sport. I use it for bird photography. I have been very happy with it
. The images are sharp. I haven't tried handholding it. I use a tripod with a gimbal head.

I had a Sigma 150-500 that I felt was not real sharp. After checking the reviews on both Tamron and Sigma 150-600 I decided to stick with the Sigma 150-600 Sport.
I have been very happy with it. The sharpness is greatly improved over the 150-500. If the extra money and weight are not an issue I would recommend it.
