I dedicate this image to my Granddad who taught me what our life was all about.
The Black Canyon of the Gunnison
This is the Black Canyon near Montrose, Colorado. The ranch I was raised on is only a few miles from this site. The range land that we grazed our Hereford cattle on is across the road. I had not visited the canyon for many years. I was in the area on family picnics, salting the cows, fixing fence to name some of the activities.
About a year ago I started frequenting the park and studying the light. The canyon is so deep that the light is very difficult. Early mornings were never successful, mid days were too bright, then last Sunday I decided to try a sunset. I was so pleased and excited when the light was where it was supposed to be.
So, thanks for visiting and taking a look. Susan

I collect sunrise imagery. Getting up very early, driving to the ocean, and shooting for future green screen composite work is peaceful and rewarding.
Thanks PhotoArtsLA, these are wonderful! I especially like the last of the set.
This brings back memories of my childhood. I am like you I would love the chance to ride and help. Looks like they have a few Herefords and some pretty good lookin stock!

Anyone tried bringing the Cotton Carrier Steady Shot through airport security? Or do I have to check it in? Im the kinda guy who has to shift things around between bags at the airport cos my bathroom scale never matches up.

IMO, When you have an element such as a fence that makes your eye follow it, try to get the whole element into the photo. You have chopped it off. I know you were trying to highlight the mountain, but the fence frames the shot. Other than that... it's a nice effort!
Advise taken for my next effort!
