I spent a week there in May and they are very professional and a once in a life time experience. Each day you spend about 6 to 7 hours on the river or combo of river and drive in the park. The only thing I didn't see was male lions. Food was great, rooms were clean and there was internet.

I can give 3 reasons I added a mirrorless camera to my photography: Image stabilization, new focus methods with eye detect and finally the display and seeing the change when over or under exposing.

I think they are pretty well caught up now. I ordered mine on Saturday. My friend ordered one on Monday. We both got ours on Wednesday. We just happened to have ordered at the right time.

I ordered my Z9 on 18 Novermber 2021 and it took 8 months but was very happy when it arrived. A great camera!

Be prepared to walk a lot, you can see elk from the road and the viewing center but there are much more when walking. Weekends can be crazy and there are lots of hotels in Clearfield.

I started digital with an Oylmpus 800k pixels and used it for over 2 years till I bought the Nikon D100. The Olympus was a great camera to capture photos of my kids growing up.

When I built my photography PC I set up the internal drives in a raid/mirror configuration with 2 4TB drives. It works great and if one drive goes down I have 2 spare 4TB drives to use to swap out the bad drive.

It would be nice to have an external raid system but I think I am going to do a cloud back up this summer.

Great description and glad you like it. When did you order your camera and where? Are you member of NPS?

I ordered mine from B&H on 15 Nov with the 24-120 lens and still waiting. Can't wait to get mine.

I use the Nikon 300 f4 and love it, lighter than my 24-70mm and same size. I do use the 1.4 tele with good success. I looked at the 300 f2.8 several years ago and bought the 200-400 f4 instead.

I just had the internal battery replaced for my Nikon D810 by MidWest Camera Repair, cost about $250 and they did a great job. I would never try to solder anything in a camera myself! After a trip to Patagonia I noticed when I replaced the battery all my setting were reset so when I got home I did some research online. I had thought it was a capacitor and not a battery but the battery was dead. Hope that never happens again and wish they had a door in the battery compartment that you could open and replace the internal battery!

I bought a Nikon D5 3 years ago form I think 47th Street in NYC and saved $1500. I took the chance and knew what I was doing. They are sleazy and try dirty tricks to get you to buy insurance and extras. I refused them and told them to cancel my order. Fifteen minutes later my D5 was shipping and it has been great ever since. I know if it breaks I am stuck but it is very rugged and has been around the world.

My advice is research and know what you are doing, but a good quality camera and take care of it. I have never had to have a camera repaired (D300s, D700, D810, D850 and D5).

I am a little confused and need some advice: I am thinking about buying Topaz Denoise AI but I have the new DXO NIK software. Does the NIK2 software provide Denoise or do I need another DXO app. How does Topaz Denoise AI compare with the DXO app?

I agree, I have saved a couple lens with a UV filter and I have a couple of them. The answer is "sometimes". If I am photographing family or say landscapes on a tripod I usually go without a UV filter and just use a lens hood. If I feel I will be bouncing around in a car or boat or doing a lot of hiking I will put a clean UV filter on. I have dropped lens by accident and saved the screw mount and frunt element. The cost of a new filter is much cheaper than a new front element or repair of screw mount so you can use a polizer.

I have the D5 and I agree that the higher frame rate helps capture more keepers. And I like the low light features and good construction. I also have the D850 and the combo is what I use for traveling.

I have had my D5 for 2 years and love it, I bought it from the gray market and saved $1500 and because of the build I don't think I'll ever wear it out! I would buy say the Nikon mirrorless camera that will compete with the Sony A9 when it happens but love what I have.

I bought one for a trip to Patagonia and used it when I didn't want to show my good equipment. I liked that it geo tags and weather proof. Not a DSLR but has a good place and better than a cell phone.

I'm thinking that is what the OP bought the HD for. But you are right, it isn't a question of "IF" a hard drive will fail, but "WHEN". I have 2 WD My Passports holding my "Keepers" So far, no problems with either one. But when problems do crop-up, I'll replace the faulty HD with a new one when it goes "On Sale" (they are always going on sale, it seems).

I have a western digital rugged hard drive and I had problems having the drive reconized by 2 computers. Submitted a trouble ticket and never got a reply. So I changed the cable that came with the drive and am having no problems reading and writing to the drive. So try a different cable.
