It’s always interesting to know who uses which smartphone for a camera. So why not do a little survey and see who uses which one and the reasons why. We all know they’re convenient. I’ll start.

I use an iPhone 13 Pro Max. I use that because it has an all-around good camera with a lot of useful features and excellent image quality. I might use one of the Samsung Galaxy series phones, save for the fact that all my devices and computers are Apple and they all synch to each other. I will likely stay with the iPhone in the future.

I use a Samsung Galaxy s20fe, I use the camera that came with the phone and I downloaded another camera App called XCamera. I use it mainly to take pics of my baked goods and sometimes at our monthly class lunches when I don't want to take either of my "real" cameras.

My brother's Craftsman mower is leaking oil from the engine and soaking the drive belt. Not good news. We want to get a good riding mower with a good warranty from a reputable company that stands by their products, etc. We might want to get a zero turn mower. My neighbor has a Toro zero turn mower with a 2 year warranty he bought for $4,000 that he is pleased with. His has a 56 in. cut. We will probably stay with a 42 in. cut. Has anyone got any recommendations or opinions about brands, type, etc. from experience, good or bad ? It should be gas, not electric. This is your chance to complain or compliment.

Good morning. My wife and I are going to Amsterdam, Bruges, and Ghent. We've been to Amsterdam before and briefly went to Bruges. Never to Ghent.Have any of you been to Bruges and Ghent? We will be in Bruges/Ghent for 4 days. I'm looking for places , off the beaten path, to photograph. If you have any suggestions of unique places to photograph I would appreciate it. We're going to see the Vermeer exhibit at the end of April and making a side trip to Bruges. We will have a car so getting to places will not be a problem.Thank you in advance.

I saw this on Technology Connections on YouTube. A guy took apart an old Olympus EE (electric eye) camera to show how it works without batteries. It's very clever.

Basically, there is a light meter inside, and that tiny swinging needle controls several moving parts inside that set the aperture. Take a look if you want to see some ancient, clever engineering - without batteries.

I had a back operation for spinal stenosis a few years and it left me with neuropathy in both legs, my right leg took the worse hit, I take gabapentin for it, helps a little.

Mine was caused by radiation treatments for rectal cancer, 22 years ago, legs a feet are numb and can get hammering pain in the feet.
The 400mg of Pregabalin I take per day usually keeps the pain under control. The Gabapentin was not working for me even with 800mg per day.

In my opinion, the queen of them all is Agatha Christie. The Poirot Series on PBS bears that out. And Then There Were None (Ten Little Indians), also a great classic. With Poirot she invented bringing all the subjects together at the end to announce the murderer.

My second favorite is Collin Dexter, author of Morse

P. D. James, is my favorite, she knew how describe characters.

Long Ago and Far Away

I am going on 90 years of age and do not expect to be around in 10 or 15 more years. On my departure, I expect my trove of images will not be of interest to anyone I know, so if you will bear with me, I would like to share some pictures that I did save, not because I think they are absolutely superb, but because I like them enough to keep and want to share.
My older photos were almost totally taken with a series of Nikon F Series bodies and mostly Nikor lenses. As age and decrepitude set in, I sold all that equipment and purchased Nikon point and shoots…P90, p610 and recently the p950 which restored my access to telephoto distances. I have been criticized by some UHH’ers for my later choice of cameras, but I now have a “toy” camera which fits my needs.
