I got to watch many of them around NY but never had a camera to capture their fishing skills.

Nice shots! I try to avoid contact with any I can't identify.

Great shots. We visited New South Wales over 50 years ago, for our honeymoon. We spent all but two nights in Sydney then roamed around for the next 8 days seeing some beautiful country. My wife would have freaked out if she saw one of those. She did have an encounter with an emu at a preserve but a ranger came to her rescue and chased the bird away. Only many years after that trip did she learn about some of the other critters down there!

I fought with the critters who continued to get into my bird feeders while suspended on horizontal bear wire (yes there are bears.) The squirrels learned to climb, hang on, and cross the wire to drop on the bird feeders. I finally bought squirrel-proof feeders and now the squirrels stay on the ground. Ah to learn not to fight nature but to live with it is a lesson that applies to people but I've fought that too. Thanks for the post:)

I wish I could live with those bushy tailed rats! I've had them invade my house on several fronts! They have ripped open a roof vent on the side of the house, plus destroyed two exhaust fan vents from a bathroom and hot tub room.
They even naught through the 5/8 sheetrock to get into the bathroom. I have stopped feeding the birds because of them, the racoons, and the bears. The only critters we still feed are the hummingbirds. The deer love our house so much almost every year we find a newborn fawn either on the back or side of the house.I took the photo from my office window.

A friends father had a Speed Graphic that I borrowed to take photos of the New York 64-65 World's Fair. I had my dark room set up in my parents basement and still have the Omega D2 enlarger. Sadly all my negatives have been lost. My first real camera othen Kodak brownies was a Yashica rangefinder camera, then a Practica that had Pentax mount lens. I still can't get all the features on these new digital cameras F stop, Shutter Speed, and ASA were what we used to determine our exposure, and focus was by eye or distance settings.

For years I could not have a beard because of requirements to wear full face masks. After I retired and covid hit I decided to give my face a break and stopped shaving. I now have two new grandsons who would not know me without the whiskers. Plus both daughters hate it so it stays for a while.

I haven't been in that area since the 80's but recognized the street right away It's Orchard ST. on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Check out Google maps 120 Orchard to see the change.

I've done very little photography the last few months, for the obvious reasons. What I have done is revisited the archives, and done some re-editing. I look at some of my earliest work and think, ouch !! I'm glad photography is a learning journey. My editing has improved from those days, I haven't completed that part of the journey yet by any means but at least I've left the station. This set is from 2016, taken out the plane window as we landed at LaGuardia to start a Canada/New England Cruise. It was a hazy, drizzly and cloudy day, and I wasn't pleased how the edits turned out. Enough so I didn't post this sequence then, though to me it's an interesting sequence. I'm also revisiting much of the content on my website.
I'll post more of the re-edits, as I go through them.
I appreciate your viewing and Have A Blessed Day !!!

Great set of photos. I have flown that route many times, but not in the last 20 years or so. A lot has changed since then. Thanks for sharing your photos.

I'm a couple of years younger and come from a completely different culture Greenpoint Brooklyn. If I look through my parents old pictures I'm sure I will find some of me in shorts like that and others how we got all dressed up for Easter. That chocolate bunny looks delicious. Oh great restoration too.
