To begin with this Challenge I would like to thank Thom for helping me with this type of photography some years.ago. Street photography has always interested me, shows life. Also can be interesting for tourists and even locals like sitting there on a sidewalk with a coffee and watching the world pass by. Have fun......

I've done almost no street photography, but perhaps I'll attempt some in the next few days. In the meantime, I've posted a photo I found recently that my grandfather took in NYC in early 1966. Scanned from a 35mm slide.

Oh, this brings back so many memories. in late 50s early 60s I was living in NJ and every year Mom would take us to the garment district to buy goods for our next year's wardrobe. At Christmas time we'd go in to see the animated windows. By the time I was 13, I was the family tour guide and any visitors - I'd take them to NYC via train, subway, bus etc. Really knew my way around back then!

Those low shots I call ''hip shots''. I buy a coffee and set up my camera on a table outside and add a delay and wait for people to come along....they never know that they were shot LOL

Since the challenge comes from Quebec, here's an evening scene from the promenade beside the Chateau Frontenac.
