Seems like lot of work for 1 image that still won’t make it to S&T. 😳
Well, if some members just want to show excellent pictures they can take, for Sky&Telescope, afraid won’t help much. I’d stop down to halfway between lens “wide open” and fully “stopped down”. Probably around f/4-7. Put your camera on tripod with exposure set to center or spot. Press shutter release half way to let camera auto focus and then see image you like in EVF, set self timer for 5 sec, recheck auto focus on Moon until beep. Press shutter, step away for 5 sec until shutter fired, and look at image. Bet it will be great. Have fun
Sorry here is example of comet NEOWISE last week
NEOWISE
The RX 10 IV covers everything you need in a camera. Shoot RAW+ jpeg if you want and it’s optical zoom. Traveling I put it on my belt with Black Widow Spider holster. It’s great! Why lug around bag with 3 lens and by the time you pull out stuff, change lens, you probably missed the shot or you spouse is yelling, “will you come on, we’re getting to the best part”. So it’s not FF. Not a deal buster. I took this picture of comet NEOWISE with my RX10 IV on great tripod, 5 sec f 3.6 ISO 1000. RAW and LR post. Rent it and yes menu is a beast, but give it a try. Don’t think you’ll find another camera that can pretty much do it all like RX10 IV
Have the Sony for over a year. Lens is awesome. Yes menu is challenging, but try it out and it may be the all in one you want. Nice not to have to lug many lenses. I use the black widow spider holster on my belt and combination is great for great all in one camera and no neck pain
Used Shutterfly for years for books and Christmas cards and always pleased with results and speed. Not with FIOS, easy to upload large files. They have simple tools but better to post process first and then upload to Shutterfly. Nice to see old projects there also and can reorder if want more

On the iPhone 8 Plus the HDR image is made from 3 - under, on, over images as in this article.

At 2+ years ago trip to Antarctic I rented a great new Sony DSLR body to use with my classic
Minolta 28-135 “handshake” lens and some great images, but also some of best with iPhone 8. Last year to Arctic and iPhone 8 Plus with also Sony RX10 IV. This gang from about 1/2 mile away via Sony @600mm. Not possible iPhone. But also didn’t have to fumble as years ago with 2-4 fixed lens. Zeiss lens with Sony “bridge” means a bridge to best images?
iPhone 8 Plus can shoot and save auto HDR and "normal" photo in camera setting so why not?
This is shot with iPhone8 Plus at the solstice. An HDR image then post processed in LR and Aurora. First, iPhone does take darn good pictures even without post processing, but Aurora does make for more vivid sky and while LR not as vivid, seems that Aurora may capture what the eye saw as the lichens on the tree. Both sure better than first camera. Big bulky latest DSLR with 2-5 fixed lens better than cell phones for vacation "snapshots"? Aurora on top LR below
Anyone shoot only RAW? I find as I shoot more and then go to edit and create catalog or a book of travel or events, I use Mac Photo and after importing and saving on my iMac I have to spend time pulling the RAW from the jpeg/RAW slot.
Any disadvantage to shooting only RAW besides the size of the file?

Great photos and timelapse. Alberta sure closer than Baffin Island Thanks for share
If you have internet here is the site for aurora forecast. https://www.swpc.noaa.gov/products/aurora-3-day-forecast
Last year trip included Baffin Island and lucky to have 3 clear nights in September and Northern Lights great show. Unlucky to have left tripod home but still took this handheld with Sony RX 10 IV. If good show you could shoot video. If active displays moving surprisingly fast. Enjoy
