Anyone shoot only RAW? I find as I shoot more and then go to edit and create catalog or a book of travel or events, I use Mac Photo and after importing and saving on my iMac I have to spend time pulling the RAW from the jpeg/RAW slot.
Any disadvantage to shooting only RAW besides the size of the file?

Yes, for many years now.

Disadvantage: If you need/want the JPEG immediately.

P.S. JPEGs from my cameras are unusable since I expose my raw files for maximum sensor utilization.

Yes, for many years now!! Basically, when I bought Lightroom 4, I quit JPEG shooting except for certain circumstances.

I've only shot raw for past 7 years. Works great for me.

Only raw no problem assuming you have a good editing software and are familiar with its basic operations. You can always export a jpeg when needed.

Some cameras can generate a jpeg in camera from a raw if you find one needed right now.

I shoot only in RAW, my logic being that if I spend a full day or week trying to get the "perfect" shot a minute or two more in PP is worth the effort.

I just started shooting RAW a year ago. Fumbled around with JPEG + RAW for a while then went to RAW only and have no regrets. Only downside I can see is you have to spend a bit more time post processing, and maybe convert to JPEG or other format to print or email, which you wouldn't have to do if you'd shot RAW+ JPEG, assuming of course that the JPEG came out exactly the way you wanted it to SOOC.

Have shot raw only on several cameras now for several years, including my iPhone, using Lightroom mobile to get DNG files instead of JPG.

When I need a JPG file, fast enough and easy enough to export from Lightroom, or create one in camera from the raw if needed right away.

Disadvantage? None, the cost of storage today is negligible, and the speed of computers for processing negates the larger file sizes enough in my mind.

Also, easy enough to use either presets or A.I. tools today to enable quicker processing of images ( gets you close in a hurry )

The only time I don't shoot raw is when I'm taking pictures of something that I'm selling on Craigslist or eBay. In that case I just need a jpg that is sharp and exposed correctly. I'm not trying to win any contests.

RAW only for many years! The only disadvantage is the additional time it takes to PP, but the additional PP capability is also what makes shooting RAW worthwhile. The only benefit of JPEG is it provides a reasonably finished photo immediately, if that is needed.
