Good one. I like it. Maybe because I am older than Grampa.

Thank you, Althefarmer.

Indeed, same experience on my part and I could see most of the attendees having same feeling, "lump in the throat and tear in eye," during the ceremony when we visited Normandy.

Feel free to use any of the contents in the show. I agree, the music will be a perfect complement to your photos/video. Pls share with us the video of your visit to Normandy. In time for next week's 75-year remembrance of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

I wish I could work that fast.. I have to edit about 2 hours worth of video and slides down to 20 to 30 minutes then add music and narration. Too many other things get in the way.

This one also requires a bit of thought.

I may be a hammerhead, but I don't get it

Thanks for the video.
You have given me the incentive to finish my own, taken on a riverboat trip through France.
The memorial service at the cemetery with taps and the old Normandy vets, brought a lump in my throat and a tear to my eye.
I might even steal your music for the memorial portion of my video. I have already found it online.
It is perfect.

We waited over 20 minutes to try to catch a dragonfly maybe flying close to the turtle. Never expected one to land on his nose...

The dragonfly is lucky the turtle is a vegetarian.

Some sad, abandoned structures along old Route 66. As others have noted, these are some casualties of our interstate highway system.

That takes me back. I drove most of Rte 66 in 1959 all the way to the ocean. I didn't realize then it would become such an American icon. That was even before the TV program came out. Lots of tourist and souvenir shops. Slept in the car at the edge of the grand canyon and woke at dawn to take some shots of an incredible sunrise. I wonder if the slides have faded. I might try to look for them.

I was using a 150 - 600 lens at full zoom.

You did really well. That was a tough shot.

Great shot. The bird looks a bit frazzled. I am curious as to the zoom power you used.

Escalate is quite a ways from Glen Canyon and Lake Powell. The picture was from the Escalate area.

Please don't confuse me more than I already am. The mark on your map shows the town of Escalante. The river that runs through that town is the Escalante River which forms one of the most magnificent canyons on Lake Powell. Where is Escalate?

If you are talking about the Colorado River where it enters Lake Powell, this is a bit West of that.

No.. There is a river or canyon called Escalante that empties into the lake. I do not know of an Escalate in Utah

[quote=roadsideron]This is a picture of a dead tree I took on one of my trips through Southern Utah somewhere near Escalate Canyons.

Is that Escalante as in the river that empties into Lake Powell?
