LOL... to my non-boat-owning friends, I described the experience of owning a boat as being similar to digging a hole in your backyard, throwing your paycheck in it, and lighting it on fire. Rinse and repeat regularly.
Thay also have an "Access" Pass with lifetime free access and service discounts (like 50% off camping spots) for those with a permanent disability. At any park station that provides passes, simply answer a few questions, sign on the dotted line, and hang it from your mirror.
I also have the 200-500... which I love. But the 80-400 is much easier to handhold during long outings, and I find it acquires focus faster than my 200-500 on the D500 (I also like the wider aperture of the 80-400). That being said, the IQ of the 200-500 is slightly better IMO, and the additional 100MM on the long end is certainly nice. If you want a wider range of focal lengths, some good reach (especially when paired with a 1.4TC), and (again IMO) above average AF performance, a newer 80-400 will certainly fit the bill.
I own one and love it. Very fast AF, nice IQ, and works well with a 1.4TC. It's a keeper IMO.

They do. And, IMO, it is well worth it for gear that is of the right value both personally and financially. They do great work.
From a rock / blues perspective, I think Jimi was only surpassed by Stevie Ray Vaughan, who also died wayyy too early.
My solution to the high cost of flying? Get an airline credit card, and charge everything to it that I can. I pay it monthly so there are no finance charges. Doing that gets me miles to spend on both domestic and international flights, as well as upgraded status. Although I traveled extensively for work before I retired, and amassed quite a haul for miles, I still use my United card. I'll be flying from NH to Ohio in May for $11. If only I could put my car payment and mortgage on it ;)
KEH, MPB, and Robert's (usedphotopro.com) are all my go-to's. I have purchased gear from Hunt's as well, but always in person (from the Manchester NH store). I will buy on eBay if I can't get what I want on the others.

KEH repairs all my out of warranty items, and tyhey do it well. However, it may serve you to pick up a used unit instead, as MDI Mainer posted.

Hi Ray, The TC does make the lens a little soft but nothing a little PP doesn't fix :). And yes, it pushes it to F8. However, I'd prefer to sell this as a package if at all possible.
