Thanks.I didn't know they had a military pass. I don't need it cause I already have the old geezer pass.

I believe it's pretty new. I didn't need it either, but it looked kind of neat! I hang it and my ID in a badge holder from the rear-view mirror particularly when we do Yellowstone with the multiple gate trips.

BTW, the geezer passes are up to $80 and if you lose them, oh, well. Good excuse anyway!

80 bucks? Wow. I think mine was 50 when I got it. Luckily I never take it out of the car so losing it is unlikely. But I might get the vet one for backup.

Yeah, I paid $20, but I believe fees increased last year. I fly to almost all of my destinations and old age is setting in, so Kathy has one as well. She's old too!

The lifetime "old geezer pass" cost $10 when put in place 1994. On August 28, 2017, the price of the America the Beautiful – The National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Senior Pass increased for the first time from $10 to $80.

The annual senor passes are $20 - Four Annual Senior Passes may be exchanged for a free Lifetime Senior Pass.

National Park Services - Changes to the Senior Pass

Yes, the free Military Pass waives entrance fees but does not cover expanded amenity or user fees for activities such as camping, transportation, special recreation permits, reservation fees or special tours.

Just info to know for those who want more than entry...

Something I didn't know when I purchased my Lifetime Golden Pass a few years ago for 10 or 20 bucks is that you can take up to 3 guests with you at no additional charge. A friend and I visited Ft. Pulaski a couple of years ago. I showed my pass and was going to pay for Andy but the ranger at the gate explained the pass was good for up to four people.

Thay also have an "Access" Pass with lifetime free access and service discounts (like 50% off camping spots) for those with a permanent disability. At any park station that provides passes, simply answer a few questions, sign on the dotted line, and hang it from your mirror.

I bought my Golden age Pass for $10.00 years ago. A jump to $80.00 is a mighty big jump.

How do we help fund the parks?
