We have a plowing match every year, here in Oregon. There are normally around 20 or so teams, mostly horses, but also mules. It is amazing how they can plow rows so straight that you would imagine they had a GPS on them. Just beautiful creatures!! These are amazing shots of beautiful horses!

Being a painter, I find Yellowstone to be magic! One thing I just hate to see is the animals with the collars around their necks. It seems there are many more than any of us wish to see. I can't see how it is so important. I guess we could ask this ewe!

I used to have a beautiful flock of white homing pigeons, and some wonderful banty chickens. A couple of these guys moved in, and I had none after only a month. They are beautiful, but they are also deadly.

While in Kenya, the Maasai did their dances and we watched them jumping. You cannot believe how high those guys can jump. They are very tall to start with, but the amount of space beneath them when they jump is astonishing. In talking to the women watching, they found the dance so erotic. They said they would pick a husband by how high he could jump if given the chance. I don't understand it, but that doesn't matter, does it! Happy people yet know to be some of the baddest people on the planet when it came to fighting.

All the Maasai wear red and think it is wrong for others to wear it. We learned they were the fiercest warriors in Africa and consider themselves the top of the food chain. In their beliefs, they believe the Maasai own ALL of the cattle in the world. So, if they come steal your cattle, and you aren't Maasai, then it wasn't stolen at all. They were simply claiming what was rightfully theirs. Funny how that works.

I remember well, being with the Maasai. We were inside the separate huts all made of sticks and cow manure. Mud would go away in the rain, but the manure would not! The killed a goat and roasted it on an open fire. It was the toughest piece of meat I have ever tried to eat, but we ate it. I think it was probably the oldest goat in the herd! It was a very interesting time. The one thing I really remember was how happy the people were, especially the children. An experience I will not soon forget! I'm happy you are getting the same experience!

I grew up on the Snake River and have caught countless numbers of fish. Thos cats are such fun to catch and will fight like crazy. But that being said, the Crappie are much better eating than the cats. Cats out of the river tend to taste a little more muddy as they are definitely bottom feeders. Give me the panfish first, any day!

I mean, just how much money do you really need. To think a few more dollars, that really don't mean anything after a certain amount, is the best move instead of having loyalty for your team, is the right move. I don't think he has any integrity about the whole matter. I don't care how many home runs he hits after this!

I am so jealous, my friend. I wish I were back over there again. I did not want to leave after my three weeks. Such an incredible experience! Keep sending those awesome shots!

And the thing I found amazing about this place was that it could be 100 degrees, yet the sand was cold. People were spending the nights out there, and if you didn't have a thick insulated pad under you, it turned into a miserable nights sleep. Pretty amazing place. Even the snakes were white.

When I visited the battlefield, a bunch of years ago, we had a ranger there who told the whole story of the battle. He was very versed on it, and I must say that the hair on the back of my neck was standing straight up while I was there. It was something that never should have happened, except for the ego of one yellow haired officer. He was no hero! I personally don't believe he belongs in West Point, but that's just me.

I'm eating my heart out, Beth! I was in Kenya for about three weeks, nearly 10 years ago. I hated to come home. Between my son and I, we came home with over 15,000 digital photos. I sure am glad it wasn't during the film days! You take such wonderful shots, and I'm really dying to see what you capture!
