Our third day began with substantial ground fog. We left West Yellowstone and went to Canyon Village and then south parallel to the Yellowstone River toward Lake Village. On this leg we encountered beautiful scenes along with low lying fog and mist.
Of course, no one moves fast when the wildlife are moving. Traffic stopped when a group of mountain sheep decided to cross the road led by a combative leader who sported all kinds of tracking gear. Someone from a tour bus got too close and the leader challenged him. Fortunately, the tour bus leader moved to tourist out of harms way.
