Cannot get D7200 to read my SD card which I have been using as recently as last night with no problems. Card read perfectly on desktop pc, but when I insert into camera, it reads E for empty.

I have tried both sd slots in the camera. Also tried to reformat in camera, would not reformat.... get message that says something like "option not available under current settings."

After card would not format in camera, I have tried to format on desktop pc. Tried both quick format, and also the long version. Selected exFAT (actually, it was the only option). It went through the long process as though it was formatting, but when inserted into camera, the D7200 would not read it.

I have ordered a new card, but don't have any other card right now to try it with. Would like any suggestions you could give, as I need to use this camera very soon if I can.

I also checked to make sure the sd card was not locked... it isn't

thanks for any help you may give.. I am pretty upset about this, as I like this camera, and used it for a long time !!

I have several photo prints that I wish to have restored by digital scanning and enhancement. I know there are software apps that do this, but these prints are very precious to me and I want the very best result that I can get, so I want this done by professionals.

Have any of you used a professional company for this ? If so, I would appreciate any referral to a specific company. (please remember… I don’t have any interest in doing this myself… I want a professional lab to do this… thanks !)

I have the Nikon D7200. I am very much a novice, but I do love this camera. However, there is one aspect of the camera that I wish I could solve. I do a lot of in-camera editing, including trimming, cropping, etc. When I "save" an edited image, the camera assigns the jpeg the next available file number. I understand that this is the default setting, and I understand the reasons why, etc.

But, here is my problem. Let's say that I go to a sports event, and take 200 pictures. Hypothetically, also assume that I have just reformatted my memory card, so that the first picture is 001. I decide that the first image that I want to edit is # 007. When I do the edit and save it, the edited version is assigned picture # 201, the next available file number per the default setting.

Next, I wish to edit image # 012. BUT TO DO THIS, I HAVE TO SCROLL BACKWARDS FROM IMAGE #201 TO IMAGE # 007, IN ORDER TO EDIT IT !!! So, for example, if I want to edit a total of 30 pictures out of the 200 images taken, this is a LOT of scrolling back (30 times) , and makes editing take ten times longer than it should !

Is there a way around this ? Some editing menu item that I have overlooked ?

thanks for any suggestions !

My wife has a Nikon D3100. For her purposes, she loves it. She almost always shoots aperture priority mode. While shooting today after a snow, her "outside" pictures are almost washed out. Please see the attached photo as an example. If she shoots inside, using either the automatic flash mode or aperture priority, the pictures look normal.

As a near total-novice, I am thinking white balance ? Or some contrast-related setting ? Obviously the pictures are washed out for some reason... thinking too much light in... I tried to use a more narrow aperture setting, but that didn't help.... Any other suggestions please ? (Happy Wife, Happy Life.... right ???)

Hello Friends !

I love this blog, but don’t post much… I just set back and read, and I have learned a lot, but am still very much a beginner.

In honor of our late son, my wife and I run a non-profit organization which sponsors a mountain wilderness hiking program for at-risk kids suffering from mental and drug addictions. You can read more about the program at the link below.

We have just received some pictures from one of our hike leaders taken during a recent hike. I attach three of them with this message. We love the pictures and hope to use them right away for a possible magazine interview article. But, each of these pictures have obvious defects in them. I am very much a novice, but it looks to me like lens glare or something like that.

We wonder if there might be a good, talented soul on this blog that would be willing and able to edit these pictures for us and remove these glares ? We want to keep the wonderful blue skies, etc, but hope that someone could remove these defects for us.

We would greatly appreciate someone doing this for us !! We have a good chance of having an article published for us, and would include these images if we can get them edited soon.

Thank you so very much !!

So, with all due respect, would it to be safe to say that maybe you don't have a sentimental bone in your body ? Maybe bad wedding/marriage, weddings/marriages in the past ?

If you think about it, wedding photography is a rip-off from beginning to end.

Folks are spending a large amount of money to 'create' memories' but really, what is left after a few months?

Very little, possibly an image or two on walls that will never be looked at again, a couple of albums that will gather dust until lost during a move.

In a few years the images will be yellow, desuet on some piece of furniture among other equally old and part of a scenery some call home.

Years later the album may be reopened one day by a kid who was snooping around and sees images of a wedding they do not relate to. “Is it you mom? Dad?” Then the album is placed back into a dark corner and forgotten again.

Nostalgia lasts only as long as someone remembers.

When reopened next, it might be when someone cleans out an attic and finds a trace of an event, does not know who is in the pictures, guesses about it for a few moments. The album is placed on a pile, 'keep' if the person wants to look at it again but probably will forget that too. With a little less luck the album ends in an estate sale and those that did not make the cut, the greatest majority, in a literal bin disposed up in a field full of trash... Who wants a cracked, dried up book made of people no one knows?

So thousands of $$$ to fill the dumpster, historical or real...

Those here who speak of the 'ethics' in pricing should stop and think about their 'commodity' offerings and realize that they are ripping up folks who need their revenues toward something more useful than spit in the wind.

Now, yes there is a market so why not profit from folk's gullibility? You must have a photographer because the Jones had one.

At the very least, now, be honest about it when you work, at least in your mind.
If you think about it, wedding photography is a ri... (show quote)
