Great shots of a beautiful animal! The coyotes I've seen here in the western states have been a lot more grey.

I really like all of these! In my opinion they would be great large prints! I could see them in an interior design scheme.

Oh, by the way- using a 300 mm lens with a tripod should be the FIRST thing you do!
If you're shooting birds, you may want to consider getting a gimbal head for your tripod.
Unfortunately, this lens is incapable of shooting a sharp image at 300 mm no matter what you do.

Thanks for the input. I know that ideally a tripod should be used but I was more interested, at this time, in how good a photo I could get hand held because I seem to get a lot of opportunities for that kind of shot. No time to get a tripod set up before the subject is gone. I will most likely eventually get a better wildlife lens and a gimbal head with good tripod but for now I'll just have to play with what I have. Good practice anyway.

I purchased the 18-300mm f/3.5-6.3 about a month ago. I haven't decided as to how well I'm going to like it over all yet but I will say I'm not real impressed so far with image quality at 300mm, shooting birds at approximately thirty to forty feet. I've been trying everything, hand held, monopod, VR, no VR, fast shutter, higher ISO. Gonna try a tripod when the latest storm is over. From what I've read on here I think I'm expecting too much out of it. Not going to name any names but after seeing the photos posted by many of the people on this forum I'm never going to be satisfied with less than tack sharp images again. Thanks a lot people!! 😀 If anyone has any suggestions, I'm all ears.

My husband says it's a J3, made in the 1940s, before the Supercub.
Pretty little plane.

In my opinion, you took a kind of ho hum photo and used it as a base for creating a more interesting, much more colorful and pleasing image. As long as it's not misrepresented, it's simply having fun and being creative. Artists do that all the time. Use multiple photos as references and combine them into the painting that they imagine in their mind. You did a great job!
