Coyote in the Wild

Last Saturday the 11th out looking for Birds and found this young Coyote checking things out.
First picture is kinda neet only has one paw actually on the ground.

data for both is the same 1/1600s shutter f8. and ISO of 2200, D7100 and 80-400mm at 380mm

I agree, that looks to be a crossbreed with wolf or dog..Looks alot different than most coyotes here on the west coast. I will post pics if i can find them,

It sure looks like the Coy-Wolf I've seen in documentaries on TV. The cross breeding started in the Eastern US ands the animals are quite successful, even in urban environments.

Very dark compared to most of our western coyotes. Although I do understand they can evein be black...rarely.

Intersting suggestion. The long legs look wolf like for sure.

Southern California Coyotes are a lot scrawnier than the ones in Illinois.

Warren, thanks for the reply, after seeing all the comments I was checking google for both references, pictures of coyotes in Ohio and other states are similar to these. Coy-wolf appear to have slightly longer legs.
