I did not see where he was unhappy with the SL3 just that he needed better lenses so he could do more. Try renting some different lenses, check on canon refurb site or local camera shops. Don’t be talked into a new camera unless you are sure the camera is the problem. The skill of the photographer and the lenses are the two most important factored in photography. Getting a new camera without having acquiring the skills and lenses will leave you with a bad case of buyers remorse.

Amazon does backup your folder structure. On a windows system you can access your backed up photo folders in several ways. One is at the top right of your page there is an upside down v - click that, then amazon drive, then backup- you will see you backup device folder structure. Alternately, from the main screen - click albums- a folder appears in the upper right- select it- then backup.

My daughters wanted mine we talked and settled on organizing them so they understand the organization. And then giving each of them a 4TB external ssd with the photos on the drives - my photos are stored on the cloud using IDrive which my oldest daughter uses. Every year I update their photo drive with new photos

I recently had the same issue with my laptop - it is about 3 years old - I came to the conclusion that it was time for a severe housecleaning. I backed up all my applications and data and made sure I had all my licenses documented. Then I has a strong drink and formatted the hard drive and reinstalled Windows 10. It took me a while to reinstall everything as a clean install. Once done I was really surprised by the new found speed! not having all of the "updates" and their associated leftovers as well as a clean windows install really made a difference - it is like a bought a new laptop! It was also less expensive and I did not have to worry that there were viruses or malware hanging around.

You can get different Viewfinder Eyepieces that help people focus better - this assumes there is nothing wrong with the camera lens itself

Buy an iPad or an android tablet with high capacity of memory. There are also ones with memory card slots - that should meet your need.

I'd add one more step to starmans process - delete/remove the network card - save it - then reboot - when your laptop comes up it will search for the best network driver and load it- fixes the issue most of the time

RAID is primarily for up time - and raid one is useless. You must always back-up a RAID to a separate device or the cloud - preferably multiple locations for important work.

Most credit cards offer a one time use card number for “at risk” payments - so when they send you a notice that they are about to charge your account, just add one of those one time card number to your account - then after they charge that card number - poof it is gone! No risk.

Nope different photos with same names - usually occurs when I get photos from others that have same name as mine. They usually com in in large batches so renaming them individually is not practical

My problem isn’t duplicates with same name in multiple folders - they are fairly easy to deal with - I cannot figure out how to deal with photos that have identical names. that are in different in folders - when you try to assemble them in a single master folder how can this be done without manually looking and renaming

I've encouraged the interest in photography in my 10 yr old grandgaughter simply by taking walks with her at interesting places. We both take a camera to places like the Zoo, wooded park trails, in the city, by RR tracks, looking for flowers or animals etc.
It has been a great way for us to have special time together and get to know each other. We both have fun comparing our photos and how differently we look at the same object? We both learn from each other and have fun!
