I went for it. Applied for credit with their PayBoo credit card and waited for a confirmation on the credit.

Made a purchase and then when it posted with Synchrony Bank I paid for the total purchase online as I usually do. The payment posted WITHOUT the sales tax. I am in Connecticut so that is 6.35%.

If its paid before the end of the billing cycle they eat the tax. The purchase amount is posted without sales tax. If you pay after the billing cycle then the sales tax is added. Not sure how it works with monthly payments as an option.

I would recommend that if you apply and set this up, be mindful of the billing cycle so you have enough time to pay. If you mail a check it goes to Florida so you have to be aware of this. For me I payed electronically.

Just mentioning this as sales tax can add up to a hefty amount. I was skeptical of how it worked but after a bit of beginner confusion it went very smoothly.

I think not all states can qualify for this but if you are interested there is a link or two on their B&H homepage to check it out.

Again just FYI.
I went for it. Applied for credit with their PayB... (show quote)

It worked for me also. As soon as I received the item I put the credit card company on bill pay and payed the card off. The state got their sales tax from B&H. The credit card co. makes money from the folks that pay over time. End of story.

I believe you are correct about the black/blue feathers, I too have seen this before and also some green hue if the light is just right.
Still would like to have the Lightroom custom color profiles in AP. Maybe in up coming upgrades.
Thanks, Bill C

I have read that in Lightroom you can use X-Rite color correction to down load a custom color gradient
during post.
Is there something akin to this for Affinity Photo
My search started after I took a photo of blackbird chicks in the nest. When I viewed the photo in Affinity there was a bluish tint in parts of the black. Maybe my monitor or a color cast or ????
Took the jpg to Costco and it came out as I had seen on my computer screen.
Really didn't notice any blue tint when I looked at the chicks before the photo and they have since 'flown the coop'.
I would like to calibrate my monitor and use the X-Rite card/software to incorporate in my post as a way to improve my skills.
Thanks, Bill C

Affinity for $50 and no upgrade costs. Runs on my old Win 7 laptop just fine. Loads fast and doesn't slow down my computer when booting up. But, to each his own.

Thanks all for the prompt replies. I have LR Classic not CC so the link to lrkilleraps may not pertain to me. I just use the catalog feature/function - no edits. Part of my concern is I don't want to do a lot of work with the catalog feature and later on for what ever reason I leave , the catalog is unusable.
Maybe best for me to find a stand alone catalog program. Any suggestions?
Thanks - Bill

What happens when/if I end my subscription. At this point I just use the catalog function - no edits.
1) Still use the catalog - add to and retrieve photos?
2) Obviously no Adobe updates
3) What are the downfalls of ending the subscription
Thanks in advance - Bill

To all -
Thanks , at least I am in the ball park. I wish I was better versed in video but I only do several a year.
Will keep the old win 7 machine for now.
Cheers,

When I take an hour of video and create an instant movie in Adobie Elements (no audio) it takes Elements over an hour and a half to render the video and produce a video H.264 or what would be played on a computer. Nothing fancy just home use.
Is this normal or time to upgrade my windows computer. Stay with windows or apple.
And if I did get the 'better/best' desktop what rendering time could I expect.

Hi-
Looks like it has been about 2 years since you posted the pictures of the new computer.
I , too , am looking for a set up similar to yours for similar reasons you made your choices.
Would you or have you changed or up dated any components.
Thanks,
Bill C

Hi-
I have heard of this problem but my Hubsan 107c produces a video that windows and mac opened right up.
Did a search for your Lvix extension and there is plenty of info on it. It is L V I X .
I learned a lot on my 107 , it didn't have gps or any of the flying aids.
Hope your video works out.

Thanks for the reply. I agree with all that you said especially keep it low and below tree tops. Actually the 107 camera isn't half bad and I was
rather disappointed when it/they were lost.
Heard of a place on the internet selling the 107's for $15 , can't recall the name , if I do I'll post it. All I need is the drone - have controllers.

Hi-
In my search for a drone that will work for me I came across a post by someone answering a 'fly-a-way' problem.
He suggested the pilot should get back to basics and learn to fly in ATTI (?) mode and that way he could better control the drone.
He also suggested a Hubsan H107C as a good learning drone. I tried this and learned a lot while flying and loosing 2 of the 107's.
But one big reason I lost the drones was I got too high and the slight breeze at ground level was greater at tree top height.
So, do you Husban folks still fly with the 501S or some other larger craft? The reason i ask is after my 107 experiences and a short stint with a 502S
I believe I want to move on up/over to a DJI product. Either the lighter Mavic Air or the slightly heavier Mavic Pro. The Phantom line is a bit large for
easy transport.
Safe landings,

Charles-
I lost my Hubson this morning , it was my first drone - x4 107C. Good to train on but need more training so my question is which Hubson would you recommend. The 107C is $30 without any bells and whistles. Oh, it does/did have a camera. I could almost control it if it would have kept a steady altitude. Always trying to go to the moon or the ground.
My plan is to get reasonably good as a pilot and move on to a Mave Pro or ?????
Might have saved my 107 if it had RTH function. This is sort of like learning photography on a 100% manual Nikon film camera.
Thanks-

I know your post said 'if you have a drone then .....'
Well , I don't have a drone , yet , and am having a struggle choosing between a refurbished p3 standard $400 and a new Mavic with fly more kit about $1300.
I live in a rural part of Utah and the extra fly distance from the controller would really come in handy , almost a necessity.
I see you purchased a new Mavic - do you think a novice can handle the Mavic or is it better to destroy the p3 and then get a Mavic. What a question!!!
I don't want to reach the limits of the p3 and then wish I had purchased the Mavic. From using my son's p3 , I can see the limits being reached quite quickly.
Well , anyway , don't want this to be a Nikon/Canon thing. FYI my first digital was a point and shoot 2 mp and I reached that limit quite fast.
Thanks for starting this forum
