A Question for Hubsan Pilots

Hi-
In my search for a drone that will work for me I came across a post by someone answering a 'fly-a-way' problem.
He suggested the pilot should get back to basics and learn to fly in ATTI (?) mode and that way he could better control the drone.
He also suggested a Hubsan H107C as a good learning drone. I tried this and learned a lot while flying and loosing 2 of the 107's.
But one big reason I lost the drones was I got too high and the slight breeze at ground level was greater at tree top height.
So, do you Husban folks still fly with the 501S or some other larger craft? The reason i ask is after my 107 experiences and a short stint with a 502S
I believe I want to move on up/over to a DJI product. Either the lighter Mavic Air or the slightly heavier Mavic Pro. The Phantom line is a bit large for
easy transport.
Safe landings,
BC

Me and my dronies all fly some drones that only fly in ATTI like the H107C. In fact, about 4 or us have that drone and love flying it. Remember to always put that thing in the advanced mode by pressing down on the right stick until you hear 2 beeps. It gives you more power to fly against the wind. Learn to keep in low and below tree tops. Don't fly those on windy days. Yes, we all believe in flying them in case one of our more expensive drones slips into ATTI mode. That way we are more likely to be able to recover it. Some of our guys fly Mavics, some fly Phantoms and some have a different brand (I can't think of the name now). But those off brand ones only make one drone. Wish I could remember it. Some of the guys started out with less expensive drones like that Parrot etc.

Thanks for the reply. I agree with all that you said especially keep it low and below tree tops. Actually the 107 camera isn't half bad and I was
rather disappointed when it/they were lost.
Heard of a place on the internet selling the 107's for $15 , can't recall the name , if I do I'll post it. All I need is the drone - have controllers.
