I am still experimenting with a 3-D lens on my camera, but I pulled out the viewer that came with my lens. You did a very good job on cleaning up the images.

Cell phones are also helping destroy the camera stores. I live walking distance to Creve Coeur Camera and bought a lot of stuff there. I also have a lot of people who ask me about how to take pictures with the iPhone. It seems that the general public is not interested in keeping their history, just take a picture, share it with a few friends and delete it from their phone. CCCamera is still offering classes though.

I have had the worst luck with the copper top. THEY LEAK. I have even been walking through the store and have seen new packages that have already started leaking. I use Energizer Lithiums in my gear or the original battery manufacturer (unless it's the copper top).

When I added to my house, I built a room for a studio and in there I converted a kids toy rack with plastic boxes into storage for my equipment. The cameras sit on a shelf nearby but still in the studio.

A trick I used to aid in stabilization is to take a tennis ball and cut a slit in it large enough to insert a heavy round metal ball (like a spherical fishing weight or old style pistol ball), a couple of finder washers, a 1/4" 20 screw with nut to pinch the slit back shut and attach that to the tripod mount of the camera. It's cheap, but it works due to the laws of motion (an object at rest tends to want to stay at rest). The metal ball will not want to climb the sides of the tennis ball, thus it keep the camera stable.

I shoot a digital Elph (Canon with 20 mpxl), Google Pixel 2 phone, and have been very surprised about the performance of a Polaroid Snap Touch. I use the Polaroid with kids, but also I can snap a picture on my cellphone and have my Polaroid print it.

I have lived in tornado alley USA my entire life. I have even lived in Oklahoma where tornadoes are quite common, although my home is in St. Louis, Missouri. While there are more tornadoes in the US than the rest of the world all together, the size of the tornado is relatively small so the odds of having one in a particular spot is rare. There are people in the heart of tornado ally who have lived here their entire lives and other than hearing the storm warnings on the radio, TV or emergency storm sirens they have never seen the tornado. I am one of those. When the alert comes out, we just take precautions and keep an eye on the sky.

I use a piece of velcro on my lens caps and sewed one to my strap. A string to keep it from being knocked off, which they have done.

Unless your bride shoot too, one camera - two lenses (16-300 and a fisheye). I very much doubt that you will have any time to use the fisheye. I overseas travel with a 7D and a Tamron 18-270 and have never been disappointed by that. The only use I have with the fisheye is to catch everyone of my family at a dinner table or big headed pets of the family.

Secondly - Congrats

Due to my job as a web programmer, I have to use both a MacBook Pro and a PC, we well as other toys (cell phone, tablets, etc). I also have installed photo editing on both the PC and Mac (the same program written for each). Stay with the PC. The Mac cost twice as much and takes twice as long to get the work done. My PC line include a Toshiba laptop with a 4K screen, a Dell laptop with a 4K screen, and a Surface Pro series 1. My MacBook is a 2016 version. All three of the PC's have touch screens which is great on photo editing. The Macbook does not have that feature. It also takes several swipes with the finger on the Mac touch pad to move the cursor from one side of the screen to the other. As far as reliability goes, the Surface (Windows 10) survived a house fire and is still working, The Toshiba is going on 3 years with no problems (Windows 10), and the Dell is now a year old (Windows 10). I am on my 5th Mac and none of them survived more than two years.

i picked up a couple of tripods for what I call "In Harms Way" work at garage sales. Laugh if you will, but a look around I was able to pick up some very nice tripods for $1 to $5 bucks, including a couple that would hold the old full size VHS and Beta movie camera. Sure they are heavy and I would not want to be hiking with them, but they still do their work. People spend a lot of money to buy a good tripod, decide that it is not what they want to do, put it in a corner for a few years and out to the driveway it goes.

My walk around lens is a Tamron 18-270, which I am extremely happy with. I have taken this lens on my 7D to Xian and shot inside the museum where the Earthenware Solders are (kept dark to protect the old paint and no flashes allowed) and my shots came out fantastic. I have take the lens to Niagara Falls in the middle of summer and bright daylight and got really good shots there.
