As a retired auto tech for over 40 years, yes Snap on is higher priced than most other tools ,but they come to your shop ,they warranty what is broken (mostly from abuse ) . I did not have to run to Sears to purchase or replace a Craftsman tool after work ,or tried to get the S&K tool at the local hardware store . Everyone has an opinion which I respect, as for me the dependability of a Snap on truck coming around once a week was a welcome choice .

Good morning to all who are reading this, Japanese business mentality is not like USA or European. The business calculation is done on 2 planes one vertical and one horizontal, we in the US look at the bottom line (This was a business article that I read) in Japan they do not want a competitor to fail ,eg is the fact that Sony loaned Olympus $ 650.million to stay in business, and Nikon is not in such dire staits . Cameras and lens are not their only source of revenue, camera sales have dropped drastically world wide due to smartphone technology and covid . Albeit that they have lagged in keeping up to competitors like Sony ,Canon ,Nikon camera sensors are made by Sony ! so their is no incentive for Sony to have Nikon fail.Canon other other hand had an over a $660 million profit due to their investments and camera sales .As I understood this article Nikon will not fail ,neither the Japanese gov or their competition will let it happen .Just go back in the US history in the automobile manufacturing when Chrysler was failing it just didn't happen because of labor loss and the billions that would have been lost .Now if you made sense of my explanation, thank you

For the third time in 15 months, the shutter on my D750 has broken/malfunctioned. All three times it was on a tripod shooting a time-lapse, no impact damage, jarring, etc. The two previous times, it was repaired by an independent shop and I am not sure where they got the replacement parts from. There are repair firms that still advertise themselves as authorized Nikon repair services but I thought Nikon had shut them down by not selling them parts. Is the Nikon facility in Melville, New York my best choice (their California service center is closed due to Covid)? I don't expect turnaround to be quick given the times.

Hi.. if you still have the Canon HOLD on to it ,I use Nikon but that Canon is pure majic in color renditon. Now as for your DF for all around use my recomendation as per others who are better than me 35mm f /1.8.. or if you want a better light sensitivity. .a 50 f1.4. Ok you will have to use your feet for composition bUT the results will be worth it,for portraits or indoor 85mm f 1.8 these lens will not break the bank and they don't usually require focus adjustments. Stay safe and enjoy
