I recently bought the Canon 60D and am loving it. Everyone in our Birding Club comments on how clear and sharp all my pictures are.

Right on CJ7. I see you are from western Washington. I lived in Bremerton for 43 yeare and got a lot of beautiful pictures in the Olympic and Cascade Mountains.

You can buy one at B&H. I have had one for over two years and it cost under $40. They have a large selection and price range. Mine is a Humvee and it has plenty of pockets. Be sure to get a size larger than you normally wear. I am 5'8" and I got an XL.

Actually the Canon 60D is rated better than the 7D and half the price. I would think the 60D would be the baby 7D. I just bought the 60D and am learning the the camera. It takes great pictures and wouldn't trade it for anything.

Just Tami,
The reviews I read had the 18-200 rated better than the 18-135. I guess it is just who is reviewing them. I will double check before I purchase any of them. The 60D and the 100-400 are givens, I just will have to make up my mind on which of the other two I will get. I will also check out the Sigma & Tamron lenses. I usually go through B&H or Camera World in Portland, OR., but I wll check all avenues before I buy.

cj, I always get filters, they are great for protecting the lense and I love the Polarizing and neutral density filters. Of course I put a Skylight 1a on first and it is always on and use the others as I need them.

Awagner, Thanks for the info. I will check out the Sigma and Tamron lenses. I know they both make good lenses. I have friends that use the 100-400 and it is an excellent lense.
