No idea, but I saw one that looked exactly like that today too. Would be interested to know what kind of hawk we share.
We have a lot of Rough-Legged Hawks now but I can't tell the difference.
It appears to be a Merlin.

Very nice shot. It seems to be a Red-shouldered, although I see no red on the wings.I think maybe the color may not be as striking if it's a youngster.
What ever it is it is a great shot.

Think you and mollymolly are correct. We have a large population of Red Shoulders here at Circle B. Waiting for a response from birdforum but sure yall are right.
