Sent nikon D600 back for oil spots on sensor for the THIRD time. When do they call a lemon a lemon. Either it's in for cleaning or I'm cloning out spots. Words cannot express how it has sucked the joy out of photography.

If you get a new $300.00 tripod you will have 2 worthless tripods. Look for a used Gitzo or RRS etc. they will last you forever. You need to protect your investment in camera and lenses.

You never know with judges. The direct gaze is so unusual that it would win in a popularity contest.

Geez here it is New Year's Day, and you are poking them with a stick. You know how touchy they are don't you?

Cigarette companies are evil. If they own you, you will die. Your death will be slow and agonizing. I know this because I'm a retired respiratory therapist. I've heard every excuse and story ad nauseum. Make a smart choice and don't butt yourself to death.

I got that lens after my nikon 24-70 2.8 fell in a river. The tamron needs a contrasty view to focus more so than the nikon. The photos are tack sharp The VR and lighter wt. are beneficial for hand held shooting. The nikon eventually dried out and my husband uses it. After a day in Yosemite shooting in raw we compared our downloaded photos. Both lenses gave us clear sharp results.

Is this an open theme competition? How many entries are you allowed? None of them are strong candidates. Of these 3, don't even consider the 3rd. Try the following with the first image: Convert to B & W, contrasty and tone with a dark bluish tint. I attach a photo to show what I mean.

Thank you. I'm entering four photos all previous winners in monthly competitions in beginner digital class shown on a big screen. They are all single shots. I've done loud tricky and trendy. Now I'm going for photos that evoke a feeling. That is my new direction. Next years photos will be different. The boat s the first step. Yes I know the formula to win is not necessarily the formula I'm looking for.

Competition consists of the best entries from the year. Here is an entry you did not see. The red bridge made the cut too.

Better than Nikon gives it credit for. If I was Nikon I'd make me their poster girl. Remember Timex?
