I remember my Mother giving me a note and a dollar bill and telling me to go to the store(abt 3-4 blocks barefooted down an oyster shell road) give the note to Lara and she will give you a package and the change and hurry home. The package was a box of Kotex wrapped w/butcher paper.
I do not remember taking the shots or sugar cubes, but I have a cousin who was born in '51 and he was probably 2 or 3 when he contracted Polio. I was about 15-16 but don't remember what was going on w/Ken, he was left w/an afflicted foot, does not slow him down much at all w/his duties as a Pediatrician.
BTW he was a Journalism major when he switched about Sophomore year, so he is very photo savey.
My best buddy's cousin graduated U. Texas in '60 and hired on w/NASA which at the time only had small offices scattered around Houston. The three of us were visiting and Don asked
what he was doing at NASA and Allen replied, we are testing the friction of a capsule on the ice of an ice skating rink by throwing it across the rink. True story, only Allen knows. I was
raised in Webster,Tx which is abt 4miles from the main gate at JSC, I joined the AF in '58 our 1950 census shows 350 ppl, when I returned in '62 there was abt a billion transplants.

During WWII Bill Overstreet chased a German fighter under the Eiffel Tower, don't remember the outcome other Bill made it back to his base,I think.
Bill Overstreet passed away a few years ago.
I remember my buddy built a Heathkit receiver back in abt '53-'54, I don't think he ever got it operating. In the 80's those of us in the CADD group were cussing the POS Sperry 2D clunkers, while one of our troops cussed his TRS-80(or Trash-80) but he didn't mind the Sperrys. Then there were the Compacts 5m & 15m(or something like that) then they purchased a few 25s and things almost came to blows to get one of those machines.
To grow old is mandatory, to grow up is optional
A friend's wife had an E-type for a daily driver number of years ago, and even though Texas requires two license tags you can bet it was not attached to the hood, uh bonnet.
This baby is probably worth every penny, uh dollar. I can not imagine the G-force created by this monster.
Probably no.16 would be that the Chiron will not float as didn't the Veyron demonstrated by coconut from Lufkin,(I hate to say) Texas.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qX0hpcs30N0We would love for them to bring the beast to Victoria, Texas and run at the Texas Mile, and an invitation to run Big Bend Open Road Race,Good times.
Yes, good fishing around platforms typical of this one but there is a possibility of a shark or two hanging around. So for snorkeling or swimming mind your Ps and Qs so as not to become
chum for the bad boys.
I wonder why there are no pics other than the one at a distance.
My oldest daughter was one of the sun worship group who either was using a tanning bed or at the pool. I continually reminded her of the early skin ageing or Melanoma possibility by passing this picture(unknown lovely) to her via e-mail. She is older now but still is in skimpy swim suits while they are fishing either on the boat or pier.
I had a wake-up call last year w/a skin cancer on my balding head, while I generally ware a baseball cap(sans sunscreen) outdoors I didn't know the sun was getting to the back of my head. I have added a pic of that scare. I now am aware of the dangers of no sunscreen.
