I've used the 100-400 II with the 2.0x III converter on my R5. Yes the focusing is slower. but it does auto-focus. However, your keeper rate will drop. I figured a used 2.0x converter cost a lot less than the 800mm f11 and I already owned the 100-400. I do like the versatility of an effective 200-800 lens.
(The 6dii is on the list as supported by Photoshop elements 2021. So that should work. Also a link to the dng converter if you want to use the old Photoshop. As mentioned the free dpp4 can be downloaded at your camera support page and then you can send it to Photoshop from there.)
I saw that too. It seems odd to me that CR2/raw files from my 60D can be opened and worked on in PSE14, but CR2/raw files from the (supposedly supported) 6DII cannot. Seems like adobe has some 'splainin' to do.
I looked again, and you are correct. My 6DII produces CR2/RAW files. However, My Photoshop Elements 14 won't open them. I checked help>updates and it confirms my software is up to date.
(Option 3 is to investigate new (supported) software that supports the 6DII directly. One such software is PSE-2021. You say you were having problems opening the CR2 files from this camera? You should double-check as this should not be the case.)
I also have a Canon 6DII. The RAW files aren't CR2 files, they're CR3. I'm having the same problems.

My wife and I went on a Viking river cruise. The 18-135 was on my 60D about 98% of the time. I'd also just bought the 10-18 Canon which was perfect when inside cathedrals and castles. It was the lens I used the rest of the time. My 55-250 (now long gone) never left the bag. The 18-135 was all the reach I needed. Yes, I cropped most images in pp. I'm sure you'll enjoy the trip. The other accessory you will need is a larger belt. The food on Viking was marvelous.
I have an SX50 that has been used very little. I'm really in to my 7D w/ 100-400L II and never carry the SX50 any more. I'd sell it for $200 shipping included. Included would be the manual, battery, charger and lens cap. I believe I still have the original box as well.
I'm with Wesso and Leon on the quality of your shots. I only got semi-serious about photography since my retirement 5 years ago. Started with a Canon Rebel XSi (450D) and kit lenses. Been upgrading slowly but surely since. Last year replaced the rebel with a Canon 60D, and last week sold my Tamron 200-500 and got the Canon 100-400L IS II. Haven't had enough time to get used to the new lens yet. When I grow up, I want to take pics as good as yours.
I own both lenses. Took my new 60D and left the 24-105L home when we went on a European river cruise. 18-135 weighed less, filter size was the same as my 10-18 EFS and I wanted full coverage between the 2 lenses I was taking. More than 90% of my shots (4300) were with the 18-135. Some were truly excellent. However, I believe I would have had more keepers with the 24-105. Not the same range of focal lengths obviously, but it is clearly superior in color, sharpness, etc within in it's range. I'm going to put my 18-135 EFS up for sale on ebay and start saving for a 100-400L.
