Thank you for sharing these pictures. It's fun to look back and see what life was like in that era.

Anyone else notice how few females there are in these pictures... the one stand out for me is the one of wall street and there is one woman walking lower left corner.... :)

Anyone going or know anything about it? bring equipment yes no?

http://www.kenmorecamera.com/HTML/Expo2012/index.html

I guess it is put on by a local camera shop here in the Seattle area ....Kenmore Camera, looks interesting.

Best part is it is FREE but I am guess there is lots of stuff to buy with all reps from everything photography :)

Hi Victoria,

I've been going these for a couple of years, you really don't need to bring your equipment as most of the sessions are show and tell type of new products. If you have specific questions of the product rep (nikon or canon) for your camera you may want to bring it -

I believe you can actually print out the daily schedules with the description of each session and info on the speakers.

Kenmore does have some good sale prices during the expo...hope you enjoy it.

May go myself on Sunday...

Now that I have your attention....
Post a bird photo today. That simple.
Red, green, blue, polka dot it doesn't matter. Even stuffed is okay, especialy with the holiday coming up.
One simple rule. Make a comment but don't use quotes. Just quick reply if you don't have a bird to flip to the others.
Okay now... FLIP ME A BIRD

A little crow that needed xtra help getting food - others were picking on her and steeling the food.... we'd been providing a few bits every day. I happend to glance out the back window to see her looking at me - got camera and went outside, she decided to show me she was hungry - we never heard her make a sound. We named her Elsie - she's our friend now :)

Going with the spooky theme and I've been looking for webs, I've already noticed that a few people have posted spectacular webs and I hope they will repost today, have fun and remember if you have a black widow in a web that counts for wild card RED too!

With the warm summer we had this year - we had lots more spider webs than ever! The first two pics are of one of the biggest webs I've ever seen in the yard - actually it was right in the middle of the walk way from the front door.... almost walked straight into it and at my height, face first... husband, on the other hand at 5ft 17 inches would have been ok, but as you see, he took the low road! - it had to be at least 15 inches in diameter.... YIKES

Everyone seems hung up on the shiny stuff. What about Modern Woman, Spirit of Freedom, Beauty in Motion, or probably even worse, Subliminal Expressions.

First thing I thought of was "Freedom" - so I agree with Floyd's Spirit of Freedom

Great photo!

I just found out that my Nikon D200 will need to be replaced. It is only 4 years old and good thing I had the extended Warranty. The camera had very light use and all of a sudden it would no longer read the memory card. The part needed was on back order and after 30 days they decided to write it off as a total loss.

This said I am now in need of a replacement. I would prefer to stay with Nikon as I have a Nikon lense. Which model would be comparable to the D200. I know that when I got the D200 it was being discontinued but I am not sure which model replaced it.
Thanks
Stu

Nice work jerryc41. This kind of photo is what I am trying to do. I am in the process of building or I should say experimenting with making a Kaleidoscope of my own ...Dont know what will be the end result...I am hoping for a degree of success close to yours.

This is a nice new effect for me to play with, although I would like to get it to work in Photoshop. I'm sure someone here can tell me how.

Jerry, you inspired me to try this. Funny, though, I took an actual kaleidoscope picture, processed it with the plug-in, and got a surprising result! This tool is really amazing...

I thought the video was cute and fits right in with our UHH name but I can't figure out how you came to give the thread the title you gave it???

Hi, well... the little guy was so determined to get out - it reminded me of some of the comments I've seen here about needing or trying to "get out" to go shoot.... and what I saw was him trying to get out ('cause he could see a new camera) to get to a camera and then he'd be a happy hedgehog!
~ I used nikon, 'cause that's what I have ;)
