I did the upgrade to adobe 2020 the other day (photoshop 2020), now my 2020 upgrade is incredibly slow - example: white balance - switching from "as shot" to "auto" takes 30 to 60 seconds same with all other changes ... only happened after the upgrade. any ideas?

After upgrading the crop toll was almost impossible to use. I have been talking yes talking to Adobe support for hours over at least four separate phone calls. My case has been upgraded to a special team. Next conversation is this coming Monday.

I own the RX 1 II. It takes fantastic photos due to the Zeiss lens. At 42 MP and no stabilization I would recommend using shutter speed in excess of1/60.

Seems like many people want to talk about what they haven't done. I have shot photos on both the A7R and the A7RII with metabones III on the A7R and with the Metabones IV on the A7RII. There is no comparison, the A7RII focuses much, much faster than the A7R. The Metabones has allowed me to use most but not all of my Canon glass. Attached are three images taken with the A7Rii using the Canon 24-105 L f4 using in body stabilization with lens stabilization off. Focus speed was equal to my 5DIII.

I have posted earlier on this subject. I have a A7RII and the metabones IV. My Canon 24-105 f4L, 15-35L f2.8, and 70-200 f4 IS all worked extremely well. You must use only one IS system, either the IBIS or the lens IS but not both at the same time. Brian Smith has an excellent article in his blog on what Canon lenses work and do not work with the A7RII.

I was a Canon digital user from 2004 until 2013 when I started switching to Sony. I owned 20D, 1DSII and the 5DIII. I started with the Sony RX1. I have used the A7r for the last year or so and just purchased the A7rII. The Metabones III adaptor worked OK with the A7r but was slow to focus. The Metabones IV works very well with the Canon f4 24-105L, 16-34f2.8L,and the f4 70-200IS L on the A7rII. The macro 100 f2.8 does not autofocus with the Metabones. When using the Metabones adaptor do not have image stabilization turned on in both the camera and the lens. Use one or the other. I am now a 100% Sony user and am very pleased with IQ of my Canon lenses. The canon lenses focus quickly and the image stabilization is excellent.

Just received my A7rII yesterday afternoon. The focus speed is much much improved over my A7r! All my Canon lenses focus rapidly via the Metabones adaptor. If the A7r focused as well as the A7rII I probably would not have purchased the 24-70 f4 lens. The Canon lens I have are the 24-105f4L, 70-200 f4L and the 16-35 f2.8L. I have yet to try the 100 f2.8 macro or the 24TS-E f3.5. I will be selling my Canon 5DIII and my 1DS-II as well as the A7r.

The same thing happens with my A7r. To clear the viewfinder I depress the shutter release half way and the viewfinder clear quickly. This will probably on the A6000

I have both the Canon 5DIII and the Sony A7r. The image quality of the Sony is outstanding. That said the auto focus is slow compared to the Canon. I am primarily a landscape shooter so the slow auto focus is not a problem. With the Sony I can easily print at 15 X 22.5 inches at 360 ppi. If you shoot fast action the A7r is not for you.

While I may not understand the technical basis for this thread I offer the following. I have not seen any evidence that the setting in camera of either sRGB or adobe RGB affects the raw data and subsequent quality in Photoshop. I personally would take the comments of Jeff Schewe over an on line tech from Adobe. Where is a comparison of Adobe, Capture One, or either Canon Or Nikon raw converters as to the comments raised in this thread. Ultimately it is how your PP illustrates your vision of the photo that you took. For me that is the print. If this discussion centers on the image that we see on our computer then this whole discussion borders on how many angels can dance on the head of a pin. My answer to that question is 360.

I just joined UHH and have been reading this discussion. According to Jeff Schewe in his book The Digital Negative today modern cameras can capture virtually all the colors we can see using the raw format. When you set your camera to either sRGB or Adobe RGB this setting is only used if you shoot in jpeg. The raw format has no color space. Once the image is viewed in a raw converter you can chose the color space. This color space then becomes "baked in" when you export from the raw converter to the photo processing program of choice. If you look at the exif data of a raw file in Lightroom there is no mention of color space. According to Schewe when using raw files the color space setting on your camera has no impact on the color space of the raw file. Color space is established only when export from the raw converter to Photoshop.

I am new to this discussion so don't treat me too badly. I have been shooting digital since 2003. I have been a Canon shooter since the film days starting around 1983. I just recently switched to the Sony A7r from the 5D III. I print using the Epson 4900.
