Topaz A/I Clear is definitely the go. I hate noise but with this software I am much more relaxed shooting at higher ISO. Well worth the investment. They regularly have great deals, just watch out for them. If you watch their webinars they always have a discount code at the end. Either 20% or 25%. You would also be blown away by their precision detail and precision contrast filters. I still use LR and PS but Topaz is now in all my workflow, particularly AI Clear. For nature shots the 2 precision filters are spot on.

I have used on my extensive travels a colourspace UDMA 3 storage device. It has slots for both the cards you want. It comes in various storage sizes so you can choose what you need. I have a daily routine where I create a new folder in the device and download the days photos into that folder. I then sync with a portable hard disc so I have protection from a crash or theft. I always seperate where I pack and keep the two devices. I one goes missing I have a copy. After I have the two copies I format the cards in my camera and start the day with a "fresh" card. You can view your photos and enlarge them but it is purely storage, not for editing. I have used it now for 2 years and my trips can be up to 8 weeks long. It is terrific. LaCie has also released a rugged storage only unit this year. I didn't think it offered what UDMA 3 offers. It has no screen.

Forget the pistol it all happens to quickly and they are gone. Their is no solution to avoid the thieves if they want to try and grab your camera. The best advice is to be Street wise and remain alert . If people approach you for help rebuff then quickly. If they persist yell at them to go away. Yell very loudly and persist with yelling until they leave you alone. Don't be embarrassed they will bolt if they are thieves. They don't want attention. Watch out for people touching you or if you sense a group moving in closely to you, start yelling at them. It has worked successfully for me for many years and scared off the potential thieves. I swear very aggressively. Good luck, stay safe

I have learnt a new (for me) method the Street thieves use. I have traveled extensively and im very aware of the normal tricks they play,. However this one was new for me. I had just come out of a shop and was looking for my wife when a youngish guy got in my face and started furiously tap dancing. I looked down and with that my gold chain came out of my shirt and in a flash he ripped it off my neck and bolted. I have worn this constantly day and night all around the world for 30+ years and it never entered my head it was a risk. I wear a thief proof backpack, cheap watch, button up trouser pockets etc.
Immediately following his escape 2 more tried the same stunt. I also had my camera on a strap round my neck so I think that was the second point of attack so fortunately I realised something was up and screamed and swore at them. They took off.
The point of my tal ine, when someone starts Tap dancing in front of you don't look down, and scream at them in a very loud voice so everyone in the vicinity will hear.
The police in Barcelona were fantastic.

I don't know what's involved. It seems to be a power problem. It switches on the viewfinder for a few seconds then its blank. The battery is fully charged.
