We'd just had some snow come through the area, but the weather forecasters stated that the sun was going to shine. That meant to me that it was a good time for a walk, without my doggies. They usually accompany me, but I felt like being alone and not having to worry about wandering canines.

The day started out sunny, but by the time I reached the aspen tree, it became mostly cloudy with brief periods of sunshine. The tire tracks also ended at this point, but old snowmobile tracks made the walk more pleasant, until I reached Elk Ridge, which had a lot of drifted snow. I planned on taking a short stroll, but somehow the stroll seemed to extend further and further. The whole trip up was about 4.5 miles, and back, just under 3.25 with an altitude gain of 1448 feet. Coming back I took a more direct route because it was getting dark and I'm scared of the dark (don't tell anyone. It'll be our secret).
