I am thinking about ordering a camera on Adorama but thought there was a discussion on here about not ordering from them. Your input will help. It is on the canon 6d.
Thank you

Adorama and B&H are two of the best, I ordered so much from both that I now have a full size safe just for my camera equipment!! They both contribute to my GAS problem way to much!! :)

I am going to Kauai tomorrow afternoon for 4 days, I will be bringing my Nikon D800 and the Sony Cyber Shot as a easy backup. I will be bring my Tamron f/2.8 17-35mm, my Sigma f/2.8 24-70mm, the Sigma f/2.8 70-200mm, I have the Sigma 150-500mm and am wondering if it is worth bringing an suggestions on which I should leave home so far I think that the Sony Bridge is a better choice than the Nikon D7100 or the Pentax K-7. What do you folks think?.

I found that I used my wide lenses 95% of the time in Hawaii. Unless you are shooting whales or surfing then leave the long glass behind!!

Attended two of his performances on Oahu, Hawaii 1970, had front row center seats. Memorable performance with a memorable Hawaiian date that I was trying to impress at the time!! Stationed at KMCAS.....

So since it's not the equipment I suppose you guys have never felt the need to upgrade beyond this level of camera. Right?

Nah, that was mostly luck for me!! I admit to being a very GASeous person!! My wife says I have way too much camera gear of both the professional and semi professional variety. P&S are ok and fun to shoot but for serious shots I need the good stuff because I cannot afford to be lucky! I was just saying all the stars were aligned and you could have taken that shot with your phone (had they had them then) and the shot would have been awesome!!

Let me put it another way, then. The equipment is only as good as the operator. It's like a high performance race car. A professional racer who know what he's doing with it can accomplish great thing with it. On the other hand, a casual driver who has the same car isn't going to be able to do what the pro driver can do. But it does make for some bragging rights, just having it. The equipment doesn't make the photographer. It helps, but the guy behind the lens needs to know how to use his or her gear and how to take a good photograph.

When I bough my D800 I gave my grandson (16) my D7100. He takes is everywhere with him and took a class at school. He took it to London and Paris and he did quite well. We're going to NYC for Thanksgiving and he is anxious to go back to B&H (so am I).

David, that is awesome!! Love it when the grandkids love doing the things I do!! Couple more years she wants to take up scuba diving and underwater filming too like her Pappy!! :D

Sounds like you two will be like kids in a candy store at B&H, I know I am!!

Pretty much, you'd need to be a professional to get professional results from professional level equipment.

Please allow me to humbly disagree with this statement!!

spend the inheritance !! , that's my goal!!

We tell our 6 grown kids that our goal is to run out of money in retirement and then move in with them broke!!

I take my granddaughter with me sometimes when we want to shoot some sunsets. She uses my $300 camera because that is all that I have taught her on so far. She takes some great shots but nothing compared to my body and lens combo's. She will be moving up to one of my SLR's soon and then it will be really fun comparing shots!!
