IF I had the money I'd drop it on this lens in a heart beat. This is my #1 item on my list of equipment I need to get in order to add additional aspects into my portfolio and get my business going. Time to go recycle some soda cans I guess.

The rank is MSG (master sergeant). While the rank is within that of the Sergeant lines it is not appropriate to refer to the E-8 as the same as an E-6 (Staff Sergeant) Just like it's not appropriate to refer to the E-6 as the same as an E-5 Sergeant.

Anybody that carries in an outer waist band holster and has the problems of a short shirt always ridding up and allowing the bottom to show. Switch to an in the waist band holster, same short shirt now only has to cover the top of the holster to keep things concealed. I've done this during the summer and even in the fall when it's still warm. You can either go an expensive route like a Crossbreed leather and kydex combo, or a cheaper route like an Uncle Mikes fabric (feels like neoprene almost) holster, each work just as well, and once you get them fitted in place and used to wearing them you won't have to worry about re-adjusting and always feeling where they are, both bad habits to start with.

From a couple of weeks ago, a few shots of some buzzards.
I just happened to be driving along, looked over and saw the two on the old barn. It wasn't until I stopped and backed up and saw the others in the area and got the other two pictures.

I have seen none of that malware/ransomware/virus/etc. for years now after switching to Mac....

Only thing better than Linux is UNIX!

Mac isn't technically a true Unix though, it's based off the old core but has been changed so much that it's a far cry from what it used to be. And I've used Linux for years. I just switched to a MacBook for my photography and love it almost as much as I did my Arch based machines.

Since Windows 8, I've been saying that after they stop supporting Windows 7, I'm going back to Ubuntu.
I may actually stick around for 10. I read that they are going to release a beta version soon. I may install it on my spare computer.

Why? Canonical is becoming as bad as Microsoft. If it's not their way it's screw you we are the only distro out there, attitude. Look at how they started cutting the community out of the development cycles, decided to switch X windo rendering systems regardless of what the community wanted.
There are a ton of other distros out there that actually follow the wishes of their users. Switch to one of those.

A Fantasy surmise: Windows 9 was a follow-on to the mess they'd started in 8. Microsoft fired every one of those young developers, then went out and rehired the guys they'd laid off from Windows XP/Windows 7, and brought them back. These "old" guys didn't want to waste anytime dismantling 9 so they started a new project of their own, and don't have to worry about lawsuits from the disgruntled 8/9 guys for using "any" of their code.

Except you forget about the NDA that all the developers have to sign before they work with redmond. The company owns all the patent rights to all the code written there, and when that's not enough for them they try to say that developers of other operating systems stole code from them.

You are dealing with the elderly here. How do I know if wake on lan( whatever that is) in enabled.

Depends on the system, you may have to check the BIOS or the computer's operating system. I can't tell you exactly which as I'm not sitting there looking at your system, and it can be different between each one.

Very interesting. Mine is plugged into router with ethernet cable. I guess I should switch to wifi then try and hibernate it.

Wake over wifi can be done, it's a little more difficult, but still possible.
If wake on lan is enabled it's usually pretty easy to turn off. Sometimes it's a bios option, sometimes an OS setting.

First thing to do is to restart your tablet. The "program xyz has shutdown" is generally caused by having to many programs open, or run and then shut down and the tablet is not releasing the memory that was alocated for them. I've had this happen with an Android phone before. Generally restarting the tablet will help, make sure you aren't using to many applications before starting your email. If it still continues, you might try removing and the email program, reboot, re-install it, then start it up again.

I'm more of the mind of hiding someplace close by with a shotgun. Seriously, if they are willing to come onto your property and break into something then they are willing to physically harm you if you confront them. Even if you don't decide to shoot them you can at least make it clear to them that trying to leave before the sheriff gets there isn't a good idea.

Do you have it plugged into a router or modem via an ethernet cord? If so it could be receiving wake on lan packets, basically a series of data packets sent out over a network that tell a computer to wake up and begin receiving information that will follow. Kind of a knock knock to get you to the door.

Good choice but add some memory. There newer processors are very fast.

It will come with a photo program "iPhoto" but an inexpensive add-on would be "Aperture." It is a very sophisticated way to keep your photos and do post processing for small $.

Don't recommend programs that are dead or discontinued.
Aperture has been officially discontinued by Apple. There will be no more updates, new versions, features, etc.

There are plenty of other software options out there. Including many free options that work just as good.
