Why are you selling it? and how much are you asking?
Greetings everyone. I attended a holiday light display this past weekend and shot a few images with my D90. I didn't think about it at the time but most lights have been changed over to LED's instead of the old tungsten type. What I saw with my eye did not match what the camera recorded. (suprise) At any rate I looked for info about LED flicker and wan't able to come up with much in terms of dealing with it inside a camera. As you can see in the image not all of the "NOEL" is visible. Any suggestions as to what shutter speed would have caught all lights on?
Not all lights lit.
Thanks for sharing. All are great, but I especially like the "Over the Fence" and "Close Up." Wonderful portraits.
These photos are GREAT! I can't help thinking that after looking at the intensity of the eyes and all those teeth, that I am glad these guys are our "friends."
I have been using Elements since PSE 7 and it is a great program. I came across a magazine totally devoted to Elements. photoshopelementsuser.com It is a quarterly subscription and details every aspect of the program in clear concise language and shows you how to use it. The website also has its own tutorials. There is a free issue on the website you can check out. It also gives you ideas on things you could do with photos you perhaps hadn't thought of. There are also challenges in every issue where you can submit your work and show off what you've done. Check it out, you might like it.

I've been thinking of the best way to "deliver" photos to my friends every once in awhile. I have accounts on Flikr and Zenfolio but I don't really want to upload to those and then tell my friends to go look. It feels pushy to say "hey I've got some new pics, so go take a look".....
What I'm trying to do is avoid emailing a group (3-10) of photos to people. That seems pushy also...
I've recently thought of creating a blog (something I've never done and would have to learn about) that would allow me to write a few paragraphs about what I've been shooting and where and then posting a group of new photos there.
What are your ideas?
Dave

Hey Dave, if you have a Zenfolio account you have a built in Blog capability with your existing account. Zen also has tutorials and webinars showing you how to use them. I haven't personally tried it yet but plan to soon. Good luck!
I have taken pictures of kids at our local schools and sell them to the parents without releases. My Zenfolio operated website allows me to "approve" any order I get. If an order comes in from someone who is not a parent/guardian I have the option to refuse the sale or at least investigate who this person is that is ordering and in most cases checking with the actual parents to see if they know them. The parents appreciate the added "security" and my willingness to look out for their kids. It's been working for me. And I might add this hasn't happened very often.
KJFPhotos: I just finished a shoot of 60 highschool choir members. Since you are dealing with "beer league" players this will probably be simillar to highschoolers... Chaos. First and formost bring an assistant if at all possible. Have this person write down everyones name in the order you will shoot them and take their orders. This person should feed the people to you as you take them. Set camera on a tripod in front of whatever background you choose and have all of them stand/sit in the exact same place. The pose can be different just keep them in the same general place/distance from you. The only change you will make may be in height adjustments. This keeps their heads the same size relatively. On your order form include the tax in your prices if this is applicable. It's been my experience that people can't figure out tax rates and apply them to your prices correctly. If possible, keep your rates in round numbers. Done correctly, this can not only be fun but efficient and profitable. Take more than one exposure of each individual too. Good luck!

I have been selling photos to clients through Zenfolio for over a year now. I looked at Smugmug too and at the time I think it was more expensive. Zen will set you up with your own website/store and you control everything.
Good luck
These are tremedous photos. I like to work with flowers also. Can you tell me if the reflection is on glass or water?
I have been getting this mag for a couple years now. I really like it. It has opened up Elements for me in ways manuals can't. It shows creative ideas of what to do and how to do it. I know its on the pricey side but there are lots of extras. The website for subscribers has tons of tutorials and more. Plus I have received free software too. So, as far as I'm concerned, its been well wor th the $.
P.S. Each edition comes ready to place in a 3 ring binder because you won't want to throw out this resource.
Hi Allison, Great photos. You are well on your way to capturing marvelous things-Best of luck.
I use Elements and have for the past 6 years. I too can't afford the big one (CS5) but there is so much that the Elements program does that I still haven't used all of it. Now the newest version, 10, is even better I've read.
My wife and I are coming to Sedona in a couple weeks and can't wait to see some of that beauty that everyone tells us about.
